    Generally, yes, but that is only really possible:

    • You find Ultimate Home or Kids gift cards in stock at your local Coles. I found zero discounted TCN gift cards in stock at seven Coles supermarkets when I checked on 16 different occasions during the most recent 15% off TCN deal. I also visited 11 stores on 25 or 30 different occasions during last year's 15% off TCN deal and also found zero discounted TCN gift cards.

    • You live near a JB Hi-Fi store.

    • The staff at JB Hi-Fi will let you use Ultimate Home or Kids gift cards to pay for Apple gift cards. It's a bit of a grey area whether or not this is allowed. Most staff will let you do it, but some staff (like at my local JB Hi-Fi) will insist that you cannot use Ultimate or TCN gift cards to purchase any gift cards and will insist on seeing the card you're going to use to pay for Apple gift cards.

        The older EFTPOS version of the Ultimate gift cards do not work with Apple Pay.

    tl;dr it might, but that would be because of a glitch

    Everyday Rewards has always intended gift card purchases to be excluded from Everyday Rewards bonus points boosters you may receive in the Everyday Rewards app or through your emails, etc, and there would likely be text in the booster’s terms and conditions to say that gift card purchases are excluded. Everyday Rewards have only intended you to earn Everyday Rewards points through these kinds of gift card deals (e.g. the one in this deal post). (That’s why @kerfuffle responded to your question with a no.)

    However, Everyday Rewards apparently forgot to add Apple gift cards as exclusions for previous in-app boosters, and OzBargainers first noticed in August that Apple gift cards would trigger these bonus points boosters. It has happened for every single Apple gift card bonus points offer at Woolworths since August, and it also happened in the most recent Apple gift card deal at BIG W a couple of weeks ago.

    Everyday Rewards may have patched this glitch by now, but I think it is worth activating the offer and seeing whether it works. If it doesn’t work, you’ll still get 20x bonus Everyday Rewards points from this catalogue offer.

    Other gift cards (e.g. Ultimate gift cards, Swap gift cards) also used to trigger Everyday Rewards bonus points boosters, but Everyday Rewards has since corrected this error. Apple gift cards are currently the only gift cards I know of that probably trigger Everyday Rewards bonus points boosters.

    Also, you incorrectly stacked the potential bonus points, as you’d probably get 29x bonus points per $1 spent, not 30x bonus points per $1 spent.

    • The offer in this deal is for 20x bonus Everyday Rewards points for every $1 spent on Apple gift cards.

    • The offer you saw in the sponsored post from Woolworths is for 10x points, which is actually 9x bonus points per $1 spent at Woolworths in addition to the 1x standard point per $1 spent at Woolworths you usually get. However (and assuming Apple gift cards will trigger this offer), since gift cards earn 0x standard points per $1 spent at Woolworths, you’ll actually get an additional 9x bonus points per $1 spent on Apple gift cards.

    No, it doesn't work with 'collect 10x points on every shop in-store or online at Woolworths' offers.

    However, it might still work with spend $50 per week for the next 4 weeks for 6000 points. The reason I indicated "might" is because you'd never know when they will patch this glitch for Apple cards. It did work for me last week (to complete the 4 weeks). There is a risk of attempting that because you need the glitch to work for 4 weeks.

  Sharing an experience:

  • Local suburban NSW Woolworths had plenty of stock on the first day of promotion ~10:00AM, including variable load cards
  • Picked up 6 variable cards, heading straight to the staffed checkout counter. Informed the staff of my intention to load all six cards to $500 for total $3k expenditure. Advised that the max per transaction was $1,000, but they were happy to split into 3 transactions, scanning the Everyday Rewards Card and tapping CC each time
  • Three corresponding 20,000 (20 x $1,000) point transactions appeared in the Woolworths Rewards app under 'Activity' upon purchase completion
  • By 12:15PM on same day, Everyday Rewards email notification received on the conversion of the 20,000 point transactions to 10,000 Qantas Points. Points credited and visible through the Qantas application as 3x +10,000 Point WR to QFF conversion rows.

    Umm to be really honest staff were just probably got too tired of asking customers of their ABN details, and probably nothing actually saying $1000 is max per transaction for the 5 or 6 or whatever maximum card buy limit.
    Most staff would have no clue on what to do with that (other than calling their manager or some other staff member) other than to remove the transaction and split the gift cards over multiple transactions, which is recommended by most Ozbargainers anyway.

    I know that you can use these points to buy apple giftcards, i.e. 20000 points for $100 off on a $100 apple gift card.
    Just not sure if you do this, do you still get another $10 worth of points for the $100 gift card purchased?
    Anyone had any experiences? I can't find an answer from the terms and conditions.

      Dug a bit into my own claim history and the answer is YES!
      The dollars off counts toward spending,I had a Woolworths online transaction for $12x.xx, used $110 off and payed 1x.xx out of PayPal, then got the full 120 points.

      Are you sure? When I purchased an Apple gift card a few weeks ago at Woolworths, I had no option on the checkout screen to redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars (even though I had more than enough Everyday Rewards Dollars to pay for the Apple gift card).

      It is also against the terms and conditions to redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars on gift card purchases:

      • Clause 32 states you cannot redeem your Everyday Rewards balance on purchase of all gift cards made in-store or online.

      • There used to be a loophole in clause 38 where if your Everyday Rewards Dollars balance was at or close to the maximum permitted balance and your purchase would earn enough points to take you over the maximum permitted balance, the checkouts would automatically redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars on any purchase, including gift cards, and an OzBargainer found this out after purchasing $36,000 in Apple gift cards in one promotional period. However, clause 38 was rewritten recently so that you can no longer hit the account maximum and force the checkouts to redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars.

          @jayboi: Yes, you can convert Everyday Rewards points into Qantas points.

          If you currently have Everyday Rewards Dollars saved onto your account and you then link a Qantas Frequent Flyer membership and you change your redemption option to Qantas points, Everyday Rewards will automatically convert all Everyday Rewards Dollars into Qantas points.

              It doesn't matter when you create the Qantas FF account, as long as you have one that is active and not linked to another Everyday Rewards account.

              I hope you're aware of the fact that if you are on the Everyday Rewards, there should be a way to sign up for Qantas Ff for free.

    • All EG / Caltex Woolworths service stations across Australia, excluding all Tasmanian locations, and I also believe EG service stations at Sunbury (Victoria), Melton South (Victoria) and Mittagong (NSW).

    Clause 32 of the Everyday Rewards terms and conditions also outlines the excluded purchases at each of the businesses:

    Everyday Rewards dollars cannot be enjoyed on purchases made in-store or online at a Redemption Business for all smoking products, gift cards (including Woolworths WISH Gift Cards, e-gift cards and iTunes), mobile recharge, Woolworths Mobile, travel cards, tickets, cash outs, delivery charges, donations, lottery products, Carpet Care, Pre-Order Kiosks, BIG W Photos, BIG W eBay, lay-by-fees and purchases using a StarCard or AmpolCard, a Country Age Pension Fuel Card or on a charge account.

    When shopping on woolworths.com.au, your Everyday Rewards dollars can be enjoyed on grocery orders and purchases made on Everyday Market from Woolworths. If your shop on woolworths.com.au includes both grocery and Everyday Market from Woolworths products, this will be a shop at one Redemption Business and your $10 Everyday Rewards dollars will apply to your total Eligible Shop.

  What a pain in the arse.
  Went to Woolworths and got a $100 card, scanned my rewards card and got the confirmation. Yet the receipt came out and had a message “you could have had xxx number of points from this transaction”.
  Told the 15 year old on the checkout and she tried to tell me you can’t get points from giftcards. Showed her a catalogue with the deal and she told me there was nothing she could do about it. Eventually got the manager who told me if I call Woolworths rewards today they will add the transaction to my account but I can only do it today.
  Went home and called them, they closed over an hour ago.

  Anyone experienced similar and still able to add the transaction and get the rewards points?

    Woolworths Group stores (including Woolworths) are unable to add an Everyday Rewards account to a transaction after payment for that transaction has been finalised, so that is why the checkout assistant and the store/duty manager were unable to help you. On the other hand, Coles allows you to add a Flybuys account with a transaction after the transaction has been finalised, as long as you go to the service desk of the store where the transaction took place and you have the receipt and the barcode for your Flybuys account with you.

    Anyway, you will need to contact Everyday Rewards and get them to manually add the points to your account. Luckily for you, the store/duty manager was wrong about you having to contact them today, so you have three options:

    • Fill out the points claim form.
    • Call Everyday Rewards.
    • Contact Everyday Rewards via live chat.

    Personally, I would contact Everyday Rewards via phone or live chat, as you can explain the situation that the checkout seemed to have removed your Everyday Rewards account from the transaction.

    In my experience, Everyday Rewards are usually pretty good at honouring claims for missing points, and they have on one occasion raised an IT ticket with their internal IT team to understand why I did not earn any bonus points for a couple of transactions.

    I had the same thing. In my case the checkout lady scanned her own rewards card then when I told her I want to scan mine she removed hers and allowed me to add mine. It scanned and came up on the screen but didn’t show up on the receipt - same as yours

    Ended up just refunding the gift card and going elsewhere

    OP took this deal from the weekly catalogue starting 08 Dec, and has included a link to the catalogue in the deal post. I also checked catalogues in NSW, VIC, TAS, QLD, SA, WA, NT and ACT, and they all list this offer on page 40.

    I've noticed that most Woolworths and Woolworths Metros don't bother putting up any posters in their stores for a lot of gift card deals, so don't be surprised to see no signs in the store.

    If you're still unsure, scan an Apple gift card at a self-service checkout (assuming the store you're at has them), scan your Everyday Rewards card and go to the payment screen. You should see a points counter towards the top right-hand corner of the screen with the number of points you will be awarded in the transaction.

    It depends on the Everyday Rewards (EDR) redemption option.

    • Money Off Shopping or Bank For Christmas: 1 EDR point = 0.5c discount on most items at Woolworths (including Woolworths Metro), BIG W, BWS and participating EG / Caltex Woolworths service stations.
    • Qantas points: 1 EDR point = 1 Qantas point. However, the value of the Qantas point it depends on how you redeem Qantas points. Here is a guide to give you a taste of approximate values.

    For example, if you purchase a $100 Apple gift card, you will have to pay $100 for the gift card, but you will get 2000 EDR points. If we assume you have the first redemption option, the 2000 EDR points will be automatically converted to a $10 discount on a future shop. In other words, you will receive 10% of the gift card's value returned to you in the form of EDR points.

    You're right that Coles, Woolworths, BIG W, Costco, etc used to do upfront discounts of App Store & iTunes gift cards, but Apple stopped directly selling App Store & iTunes gift cards in Australia in early July and they've withdrawn them from nearly all third-party retailers. In the first four Apple gift card deals at Woolworths, BIG W and Coles, they all awarded 30x EDR or Flybuys points per dollar spent on Apple gift cards, If we again assume you use the first redemption option, you would have received 15% of the gift card's value returned to you in the form of EDR points. However, the last few Apple gift card at Coles, Woolworths and BIG W have been for 20x points, so my guess is that 30x points deals would be less frequent than the 20x points deals going forward.

    If you really want to get Apple gift cards at a 15% upfront discount:

    • Go to your local Coles (assuming you have one near you), and
    • Purchase some discounted Ultimate gift cards (assuming they are in stock), and
    • Go to JB Hi-Fi and use the Ultimate gift cards to pay for some Apple gift cards (assuming you have a JB Hi-Fi near you and they are happy to let you use Ultimate gift cards as a payment method for Apple gift cards).
