  • Alienware M15 RyzenIntel i7 11800H

    I'm so confused!

    • Where in the post does it say Ryzen?

    • +3

fixed! used the previous ryzen 3070 deal as a template…

  • 125 watt 3080.

    • is that good or bad? How much watt should we expect?

      • Highest wattage 3080 in a laptop is 165W

        • Which laptop is that?

        • +1

And you are never ever going to find a full powered 3080 for anywhere below or around 3k. The cheapest 165w 3080 laptop is the legion 7 for 3.6$k quite a while back, and that have since gone up in price for quite a bit as the last 3080 legion 7 deal was $3.9k.

This is quite literally the cheapest 3080 laptop there is around, and the 125w 8gb vram is just as comparable to other 3080 laptops around the 3k mark (msi gp66 w/130w 8gb, gigabyte 15P YD w/130w 8gb etc). Any other cheap 3080 laptop deal all had a 10th gen chip which is a far cry from a 11800h.

      • Higher the wattage is, the bigger and thicker the chassis have to be to cool it. So high wattage GPUs are generally found in thiccboi 16-17” laptops

  • Saw this "Dell Advantage Rewards. Get up to 10% back (*Capped at $200) on purchases as a discount coupon for your next purchase." Is this meant you have a $200 coupon to be spent in next purchase; or in next purchase you are entitled to 10% discount capped at $200?

    • +1

You get 10% back but it's capped at $200 on the current purchase then you can use that amount when buying something else later.

      • Thanks mate!

  • +2

I've given up or cashbacks. My clicks registered but hardly ever resulted in a cashback. So I haven't even bothered for the last few months.

  • -2

Does anyone know if there is a "thermal issue" with this particular build?

  • -2

I doubt you would get cashback on this one especially with the use of coupons. Unless they confirm it here then assume you ain't getting squat.

  • this or the Alienware X17 Gaming Laptop for ~$200 more (albeit w 3070 card) ????

  • Is this the same 3080 card in a PC or is it the mobile / laptop version with less power ? As per my understanding it is the same card, please correct me if I am wrong.

    • It’s a completely different die to the full desktop 3080. More like a desktop 3070

      • Much slower than a desktop 3070.

        • Even slower than desktop 3060ti.

    • +1

Laptops need to cool the GPU in a constrained environment, so the mobile variants have always been far slower.

  • Thanks for the reply, fellas, seem very good for a 3080 but now you guys told me that it s actually a 3060TI so prob get a desktop instead, I don't really believe in gaming laptop, they overheat like crazy
