  • Will shopback work with this? Great deal if it does.

  • good deal!

Intel 11th Gen CPU, eww. Be prepared for CPU Throttling.

      • +1

TGL-H (11th gen mobile) is actually faster than Ryzen 5000 equivalents for gaming.

Just not quite as efficient. Definitely not desktop 11th gen architecture bad though (those are different chips entirely on a different process node)

      • +1

Its not the 10th gen anymore mate.

The 11th gen is based on the 10mm superfin node and is unlike the desktop 11th gen. It's actually very competitive against AMD chips. It beats out 5800h in all around gaming, thanks to the faster boost clocks and the larger 24mb of L3 cache. It's only in productivity workloads thats limited to under 45w, does AMD see a major advantage, anything over 45w, the 11800h will be better. AMD does have the all around lead in battery life so if thats a concern do take the AMD version.

  • I don't think shopback will honour a cashback after two discount codes already applied.

  • Thats a good price, but have anyone noticed they probably not performed as expected, I am a bit worry because this video:

would've been better with a QHD/2k screen at least.

    • Yeah… a 2070 seems like overkill for 1080p. At least it's 165hz.

      • +1

Nah, the latest AAA games won't even hit triple digit FPS with Ultra Settings/RTX on.

      • this is 3070

  • +1

The price in title should be with the 7% off $2,231.07

  • Good price!

  • Does anyone buy a laptop and always plug-in power and use it as a desktop?

    • I use my Legion 5 Pro that way ya

      • Is 500 nit brightness much better than 350 nit, I think Dell is 350nit, wondering I should pull the trigger for this one or wait for Legion 5 pro to be restocked.

        • +1

May not matter too much in terms of nits if you are always in dimmed/darkened lighted rooms. But the Legion 5 pro also has better display resolution (WQXGA 2560x1600). I think the Legion 5 Pro is simply more powerful (140w TGP for the 3070 model) and better quality. I am still amazed at mine. The power and bang for buck is just awesome.

          • @SueyJitSu: I'm looking at getting Legion 5 Pro, where and how much you got it for?

            • @skdreams: I got mine from this deal ..

In stock and ready to ship in 2 business days are the deals for Lenovo you need to keep an eye for. Mine arrived in 2 days and has been a great daily machine… every day of the week since. I have it plugged in 24/7 pretty much. Battery is on conservation mode and has only done 6 cycles since Aug.

    • I do with my Nitro 5. Hooked up to a Dell 27DGF monitor with mouse and keyboard. I use the laptop as a second screen.

Was going to build a desktop but couldn't justify the prices.

  • I bought this one, and great performance. Ok to play farcry 6 with average option. But need to spend extra $50 from aliexpress. There is no bracket to install 2nd ssd. I ordered bracket and heatshield from aliexprrss to install 1tb 2nd ssd. All good except slot issue.

    • Ah, if you call up Dell they will send you one free

  • Total price = $1987.68 ($2028.25 * 0.88 + $202.02)

    finally a good 3070 sub $2000

  • Anyone know the TGP on the 3070 in this? Curious how it compares to the Lenovo Legion deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/666612

  • I'm just going through the fine print from ShopBack that says "Promo codes or voucher codes not approved by ShopBack will not be tracked". Does anyone know if that means ShopBack will not track the transaction if we used the 7% coupon code by DELL?

This laptop runs insanely hot. Dell downgraded the vapor chamber off the R4 cooling back to traditional heatpipes for the R5-R and R6. Surface temperatures often get into the mid 50s on the bottom under gaming loads.

3070 had its cores removed slightly for some reason and it was brought back with a recent vBIOS release. Performance did not change significantly but it still runs CPU quite hot. Performance is OK - beats Dash F15 (so does some high clock 3060 lol) but not as fast as competitors from MSI and Lenovo

  • this or Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Storm Grey (5800H, RTX 3070 140W, 16" WQXGA IPS 165hz 500nits 100% Srgb, 32GB, 1TB) ? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/667490

  • Looking to install a 2nd SSD on this, and been trying to speak with Dell to get them to send through the bracket, heatpad and screws. Anyone know how best to contact them, or which team to contact? Also read from somewhere that it should be free as well, can someone confirm?

Tried to log a service request, but then got redirected to Sales, who had no idea. Thanks.
