Will you comment this on every Viofo post?

      • No.

Have I on all the others?

  • I thought this was the plus version sadly its not but it is cheaper via the Banggood deal here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/663192 Thanks for posting though.

This is NOT the Plus version, this is a worse deal compared to this one for 3 dollars more.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665957

If you are planning to buy the non PLUS version this is the same device as OP but cheaper by a significant amount.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/663192

Heres a comparison between all three models.

IMO if your paying over 100$ then get the plus.

Not a good deal compared to the actual A129 Plus Duo deal the other day.

  • Picking up a 2017 Tucson Highlander on Monday. Any thoughts on a good quality dash cam? $500 +

  • i have thise camera, works great.

  • Ah crap.
    Just bought 2x of these!!!

At work, did it fast so I don't miss out again. I realise after that it's NOT the Plus model. It's the lower quality 1080p version. It's not the 1440p one.

    Fark.

    • LOL

      • Managed to cancel the order.
        Still salty.
I did vent earlier a couple times actually.

Will Kangal get lucky next time on Cyber Monday Sales? Find out on the next episode of Drago OzBargain'd.

        No, it's the A129 (non-plus).
It can do 1080p but it cannot do the 1440p at higher bitrate. The internal chips are different, as are the cameras. Honestly, I do not care what it is. But the plus version can read number plates much more clearly, that is all.

The Pro model can do 4K, and it's a little clearer, but only in good lighting conditions and at lower speed differences. That model records at a lower 30fps mode, so the overall bitrate and picture quality is very equal/same as the 1440p/Plus model.

So whilst I would normally pony up the extra and go for the Pro model, it does have a major con. It tends to break in Australia. Due to the stronger chipset in the 4K version, the rear-camera doesn't have its own chipset. The main camera records for both. This increases heat. Which is fine for Germany and Canada, but here in Australia it's bad. The extra heat will cause it to currupt your microSD card, and eventually kill the dash cam itself.

I'm hoping Viofo will introduce a new A139 version soon, which will do 4K/60/HighBitrate and do so with Australia's conditions, and at a reasonable price. But due to the current economy and "chip shortage" I don't have much hope it would be soon. So this is the best option currently.
