The edge 20 pro is only $699 @jb

    • yes. and somehow if you are going to grab some x20 bonus point Apple Gift Card from BigW sales, you can use them to buy this too :)

    5G fry your brain lol

If you've fallen for that; then just turn the 5G frequency off, and let the rest enjoy their tech.

No need to parrot the social media sheep.

    • +2

you know 5G and other wireless radios already getting through your head right now :), they're everywhere and yet we all are … alive lol

      • +2

Well, distance from transmitter (or even receiver) is a factor for signal concentration. So if there were a concern, having a handheld with the tech would be 'an issue'.

Im of two minds on the topic.

On one hand, there is zero evidence of any issues, and its non ionizing, so the chances of any appearing are also laughably slim.

On the other, I think the 1Gbps that bonded 4G is capable of, would have kept us going for quite a while, while more testing was done to please the 'frequency fearers'.

I switch it off for battery savings personally; so my non paranoid reason is a 'bonus' for me.

I mean; if they were picketing to "do more research!" Id probably be OK with them. But to make claims they know something bad that science dedicated to researching this tech hasnt found? Sorry. Your facebook group isnt more informed than the world cooperation of scientists.

what frequency is the wireless of your router at home, pls kind sir?

  • Cheaper at Officeworks for the Moto

    • And (was yesterday) even cheaper at several ebay stores, if you've signed up for the free month of ebay plus. Havent checked today.

      • Free shipping from OW too and way more stores for click and collect.

    • It's $664.05 if you buy the Motorola Edge 20 Pro from Officeworks. I called up asking if they would beat JBs price which is the same price of $699 and they said they would and told me the phone would be $664.05.

  • dxomark says the camera is just mid range

    • +1

The camera? Or the default camera app?

Use gcam; the hardware is capable, the software is 'eh'.

I was all hot to trot for the 20 fusion; until that a52s deal came about the other day.

Even at $49X that its back up to now; the waterproof rating, the dual speakers and the snapdragon cpu makes the extra $9X reeeeeeally worth considering still.

The video mic quality for recording, and mono speaker really hurt a phone this tall (fusion).

The Samsung also has much longer support, but sadly the Aus version is single sim.

I'd recommend giving them a test drive at JB etc first. The A52's mushy haptics were a deal breaker for me. The vibration motor feels like something from 15 years ago; it's so slow to spin up that you get almost no feedback while typing and just makes the phone feel cheap. I noticed a few lags too.

The Moto's haptics are pretty crisp. Performance wise it's weaker on paper but felt more fluid to me. Stock Android with no bloat is great.

If going Samsung I'd stretch to the S20FE. It's butter smooth, has good haptics, and the camera is top notch.

      • it's so slow to spin up that you get almost no feedback while typing

Thats a fair point. This will be my first phone without a keyboard, so I'm in new territory here.
I didn't consider that as an issue, so thanks.

    • What deal is this?

  • +1

Should probably note that it is Delivery only

    • Anyone know why BigW almost never stocks any of their higher-end electronics at their stores?

They’re always offered by shipping only. Had a couple of horrible experiences with their delivery service, so now always avoid it.

Same price on Lenovo store but with a free Lenovo smart clock thrown in.

  • Is there anyway I could use the Woolworths points from two accounts to buy a phone $399.

For example if I make a purchase of $150 in BigW store using Woolworths points.
When I made a refund, what can I get back? Woolworths dollar or BigW credit note or Wish card?

    • No

    • You'll likely get a Big W refund card (only usable @ Big W & Woolies).

  • OOS for tab FE?
