Different product. That is the Fenix 6, not 6 Pro.

  • Could this go for even lower since fenix 7 is rumoured to be imminent? I'm still not super enthusiastic at this price point since I won't be able to use my music streaming service of choice with this, only supports Spotify and Deezer.

    • It supports Amazon music too.

I have 6S, non Pro. Do wish I had gone Pro for music support. Firmware gets updated regularly, not always for better: September changes to Fitness Age and Body Battery were a step backwards IMHO. I am waiting to see what the 7 series brings in terms of sensor upgrades.

      • There's a new version of the firmware out now.
Link if you want it now, otherwise it rolls out over the next week or so

Lots of people not happy with this update:
Update the altimeter’s auto calibration to be either be “On” or “Nightly”. Setting to “On” will calibrate at night, activity start, and continuously during activities. Setting to “Nightly” will set the device to only calibrate altitude at night. (Models without DEM maps will not perform continuous calibration during activities)

  • Nice find OP, excellent watch and extremely durable/ sturdy.

I have "pole axed" (wife's description) myself mountain biking and it's A-OK with a few scratches on the bezel.

Also went through a zip line course in the GC hinterlands and had the watch rubbing along a braided metal line as I sailed down 100m+ with sparks flying- only has a couple of slight scuff marks on the bezel.

    • Was that with the Pro model or Sapphire? I am surprised you didn't scratch the glass if it was just the Pro model.

      • Forgot to add its a pro model, however I bought a couple of glass protectors off Ebay- I still have the same one on from the Zipline incident. I did have to change the one after mountain biking as the glass protector shattered (didnt cause any harm to the actual watch face)

Who would buy one of these at full price, they are always on 'special' these days.

They're due for an upgrade, once the global supply chain unborks itself.

At RRP, they're in the same ballpark as an iPhone or upper-midrange Ultrabook, and you are wearing it 24/7.

I'd be practically first in line for a new 7S Sapphire, if well-reviewed by DCR.

      • Please advise who DCR is so I can keep and eye out.

        • DC Rainmaker.

  • Would anyone happen to know the benefits of going for a 6X Pro rather than the Fenix 6 Pro. Thanks

    • You have alpha gorilla sized wrists, or really care about the battery life. That's about it.

    • Biggest difference is the size. 6X is pretty big.
Second biggest difference is battery life - alot longer in the 6X.

I'm hoping Ryda match this price on eBay to combine with the $50 off code (they've already matched the 6S pro in rose gold, grabbed one for my partner this morning - I want the 6 Pro in black)

  • Missed out $499 deal back in August. Still waiting

  • Will JB HiFI price match Amazon AU?

    • I would say so

    • JB (and others) also have the 6x Sapphire for $699

    • Just went in and they said no and didnt really wanna talk tbh. Might just be a case of cbf for the sales bloke.

    • $559 appears to be for the 6S

      • You are correct :)
I was looking at the white 6s pro

  • +1

Not the cheapest ever but now $646 at JBs
