  • wow what a timing you guys very lucky amazon gives $100

    • +1

What do you mean? You can't spend those $100 Amazon credit on these products anyway.

      • i mean because amazon gives 100 then many are buying this unit, and probably some will buy accessories from this guys

    • Yeah we have had a few people send through messages for discount codes for gear on the back of their oculus purchase this week! :)

and yep - great Amazon deal on the quest 2 - best time to get into VR!

      • +1

What upgrades would you recommend for a base Quest 2 purchase?

        • +1

In order of upgrades we'd always recommend -
          1. head strap (everything is better than the base strap!)
          2. hand grips
          3. leather face cover (or get this #2 if you plan to play long sessions, as the standard silicon covers feels very unbreathable after a while)

          • @OculiumVR: Thanks for that. Any particular headphones you recommend to use with the Quest 2 / VR headsets in general?

            • +1

@Ham Dragon: if you want to go all in for audio - google Frankenquest Audio Strap modding. Does cost a pretty penny though!

Otherwise there are in ear or over the head options. Depends on what you're using the Quest for too…movies - over ear headphones are okay and not too much of a nuisance, but for fast movement gaming - definitely need in-ear!

              • @OculiumVR: Again, thanks. I'll be using VR for gaming / immersive experiences, so will look into in-ear stuff. Very tempted to jump on the current deal!

            • +1

@Ham Dragon: Try out the default audio before you commit to anything. I'm really impressed with how good it is out of the box!

              • @wormboy: Thanks mate will do! We have a new bub coming to tossing up if this is a worthwhile investment given how busy wifey & I will be in the coming months.

Are there any good golf games for VR?

                • @Ham Dragon: Walkabout mini golf is great fun. Have not played but heard Pro Putt is decent too!

  • Hey guys, can you clarify whether this is the same product as the 'Halo Xtra', which is also the GOMRVR off AliExpress? No shade at all, I'd rather support an Australian business which posts on OzB and has great local customer service - just trying to clarify so I can go off the reviews :~)

Hey Doy! They are similar but with two key differences, the cushioning on our halo strap is denser so will provide more comfort and there is a complete rear support / cushion which will provide greater stability.

let us know if you have any other questions :)

      • Thanks!

Question #2: how would you compare the PU Leather comfort kit to a good silicone cover over the top of the foam? I am just wondering whether the Halo Xtra alone would provide the comfort I'm looking for, without necessarily paying the extra cash for the comfort kit too.

        • +1

They serve different purposes. The silicone over the foam cover really is just to stop the foam from absorbing all your sweat and making it very unhygienic! Some people like this option and just keep replacing silicone covers as they game.

The PU Leather comfort kit provides a cushion buffer. Now sweat won't disappear - but it can be easily wiped off with cloth / tissue, so no need to swap out etc :)

          • @OculiumVR: I see, sounds good! Would you say the Halo Xtra takes enough of the pressure away from the eye area that the silicone cover then becomes a lot more tolerable? Or you'd still be getting the comfort kit pretty quick smart regardless?

            • +1

@Doy: Most people eventually upgrade their face cover from the stock foam/ silicone. In saying that the Halo Xtra strap would reduce pressure when gaming, so you can see how you go with that. And if you want to up the comfort - you can always pick up the comfort kit later :)

  • Hey rep,

Just a question, but why did you go with that particular headstrap and not something like the bomovr m2 which is considered to be better? I've not heard good things about this particular head strap.

Also any recommendations on accessories to help increase the FOV of the headset? Just noticed that it's not very good on the quest 2, but only bought one a few days ago. Basically, I don't think the cover fits my face very well, but also not sure if just getting a new headstrap would fix that.

    Cheers!

    • Hey there - great question!
So the first two versions of this head strap that were sold by some outlets we're not as good - agree! But this upgraded iteration does correct a lot of the earlier annoyances (padding size, stability) and hence we've decided to fully stock it.

The bobo is designed a bit differently - we find it creates a different angle / forward tilt when gaming, whereas the strap we stock gives a neutral / flat angle. Both are great definitely - but we find this causes less pressure for our necks! :)

  • Any company selling prescription lenses for oculus 2? Direct purchase from oculus seems to be shit expensive, lol

    • +1

Hey there - yep couple of companies. We have personally heard / read good things from these guys for prescription lenses - https://vroptician.com/prescription-lens-inserts/oculus-ques… . They are sent from overseas so does take a few weeks to arrive!

    • I'll vouch for vroptician. I've bought inserts for HTC Vive and Oculus 2 and they work great.
They ship from Germany but the two times I've ordered, they were here in 2-3 weeks. Quicker than the Suntory Coffee cans Auspost shipped from Sydney which took 4 weeks :p

  • Hey rep, does the VR adventure grip allow the stock wrist straps to be kept?
Basically, I want to wear the grip knuckle straps and the existing wrist strap together for extra security.

    • Hey there! Yep you sure can - there is a small slot at the base of the grips to thread the stock wrist wraps :)

      • Thanks OP. Bought a set!

        • Brilliant! Will be sent out Monday! :)

  • Rep, can the VR Comfort Kit facial interface fit on the Oculus glasses spacer? I know some third-party facial interfaces don't.

    • hey there - yep its compatible! :)

      • Cool. Thinking about getting the Halo Xtra head strap, Comfort kit and Seismic hand grips. What will the deal be?

        • +1

Will be 15% off all those items ($114.75 after discount) - just make sure you use the discount code - BFW15! And if you like to upgrade to express post, its $5.

      • Received all three items today, but the Comfort facial interface does not snap fit into the Oculus glasses spacer properly. I think there is this plastic ridge inside your Comfort facial interface on both sides blocking the way. Any suggestion how to fix it?

        • Hey! Send us an email to [email protected]. We can send some extra photos to show how it all should fit together!

  • hello does your comfort deal come with the thing thats clicks into the headset mine broke the other day

    • Hey there! I think you mean the facial interface - the plastic interface with the foam right? If so - yes the comfort kit comes with its own facial interface that you add the pu leather pads onto and use. If you want to double check with us - send through a photo to [email protected]

      • yes that's it thank you ordered!

        • PM through your order number - we'll 100% make sure that goes out tomorrow - can imagine your broken facial interface isn't doing much wonders!!
