Sony Home Theatre in a Box - 5.1ch 800W HTDDWG700 - $296 + Free Delivery*

90

Good Morning All - Hope you had a great weekend!

Videopro have secured over 100 of the HTDDWG700 Home Theatre Systems at the amazing price of $296!

The beauty of the component systems is that you can connect all of your existing devices (Bluray, DVD, PS3, Xbox or Wii) with 2 HDMI in and 1 HDMI Out. **NOTE HDMI does not support audio and for audio compatibility it must be connect through optical or coaxial (Full Specs on our website) - This way you can get the full surround sound experience while doing what you want on your TV.

While we know it's an older model, at this price point and the fact that you are getting a reputable brand like Sony, the deal pretty much speaks for itself.

As always here are a few things to remember.
- Free shipping is to mainland Australia only
- We offer after sales support through email, phone and livechat
- All of our stock is brand new and comes with the full manufacturers warranty. No grey imports

If you have any questions let me know via OzB or call one of our sales staff on 1300 VIDEOPRO.

    @rep: can you confirm?

Potential buyers note: This model does not support audio over HDMI!

It has HDMI switching only, you need to connect optical or coax digital connections for audio, it only has one optical and one coax digital connection.

So you will only be able to run two digital devices to the AVR not four as described by the rep!

lol thanks for the heads up, what a fail in product description!

      • Sorry guys. I've adjusted the post - Hopefully it's a little more clear now.

    • Ah yes I'd forgotten about that little gem, that was annoying when I first got it.
And with that reminder I better check how I will end up connecting Foxtels IQHD along with the TV and the PS3.
No point upgrading from the IQ2 if I cant do it easily.

  • Hi Everyone - Blackrose is correct, the HDMI does not support audio on this system so you will either need to use optical or coaxial to support the audio connection.

    • hmm im not really understand but i have new LG 55LW6500 TV so will this work perfectly with my tv? what are the disanvantages about having to use coax/optical cable (apart from buying it)? thanks

      • Hi erwinsie - No real disadvantages except the audio quality from a Coax/optical is 5.1 whereby HDMI can go upto 7.1. As this system is only 5.1ch you would not be effected by that :)

      • at least one extra connection line, aka messy.

      • The real disadvantage is you miss out on the lossless HD audio i.e Dolby TruHD and DTS HD Master. Surprise why none has mentioned this.
Not that everyone can tell the difference in audio quality between these formats.

        • Yeah it's true you can't get the lossless audio codecs via optical/coax on a system such as this, and similar low cost units I doubt there would be much benefit from the lossless audio via HDMI if it had it.

I think the price is quite good, with free shipping and all. However, given the very limited inputs, and audio requiring separate plumbing, I am not sure if I see the value of this over, say, a logitech Z5500. Sony receivers have quite high THD's compared to Yamaha's, Onkyo's, etc.

  • Would be good if we see BDVE880 at $299 just like the VIP sale (or close). Missed out on that one unfortunately.

  • I also got one of these last time they were posted here. I can say that it is a very good system for the money and Videopro were exemplary with their service.

  • Free shipping is to mainland Australia only - Does Tassie misses out?

    • Hi skinny - Unfortunately yes, a 'Free shipping to all mainland Australia' policy was introduced and as Tasmania is technically not mainland this policy had to be enforced. This was a tough decision made on our behalf however we needed to be consistent with this policy. Just as a side note, I think you'll find our shipping prices aren't too bad when comparing to other retailers.

  • got one. thanks
