  Would one notice the speed difference between the T5 and T7 as an external on a PS5?

    Both should work perfectly fine. I would guess T7 will be slightly faster - but not that you would feel the T5 is slow.

    But at this price I think the T7 is worth it.

    I use both the T5 and T7 on my PS5 to play PS4 games, and I can't say I've noticed any speed/loading difference at all. Not that you need a particularly fast drive to play PS4 games anyway. I'd say go for the T5 and save some money.

  Thank you. Got the T7 in red from the local OW. For you'se using it with a ps4/5, does it need to be formatted (to a PS4/PS5) prior to plugging in?
  edit - found with a quick google search that it is as easy as plugging in and formatting using the PS 4/5 settings menu
