    • Maybe 6 cores / 12 threads? I don't think the 5600H has physical cores..

    • NVIDIA® GeForce RTX ™ 3050 Ti Laptop GPU with 4 GB GDDR6 VRAM, Boost Clock up to 1485 MHz & Max Graphics Power up to 75W

In case anyone was wondering that's 60W TGP + 15W dynamic boost.

    • +1

Only 4Gb ram for the GPU? That's kinda lame. Should work ok for non demanding stuff, just surprised to see it comes with so little.

    • Does anyone have a considered opinion on whether this ALDI laptop is a good deal or not (i.e. good bang for the buck) for someone who only wants a sturdy laptop for streaming movies, Zoom, maybe some light video editing, and office applications? I know that office laptops are cheaper, sure, but I've always bought gaming laptops because they are higher-spec/faster, and last longer in terms of toughness/reliabilty and also how long they hold their own before they get obsolete (compared to non-gaming laptops). ALDI usually gives good deals, but I guess ebay and lots of online stores may be able to beat this particular configuration? Thanks!

        Lenovo has this Legion

        https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5…

        Smaller SSD

On chat they reduced it to $1,550.

        • $1550? I just asked in the chat if they could do that machine for the price you mentioned and they said no way. $1899 was their cheapest.

          • +2

@brettule: Ok I did do it last week - there was an ebay promotion on at the time. The operator said they didn't pricematch ebay, but he came back with the same price.

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/662459

            here's the ebay link

            https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/393625074740 - after 20% $1560 - appears to be still active

            • @morestuff: Thanks very much for the useful information. It seems, on balance, that both the Medion/ALDI and the Lenovo/ebay configurations are basically the same, but ALDI's is around $60 cheaper (the SSD sizes are actually the same—-ALDI's is 512 GB as well, as the original poster noted).

In this case, unless there is a need to have the Lenovo brand name, and guarantees, etc., we might as well get the ALDI one…. That's my understanding, anyway!

    • MIght have been updated but it states windows 11 home.

  • Wow cheap for that 34 LG.

  • +1

Any details on model of the tv?

  • +5

The Viomi A9 is great at that price, I paid $200. Can vacuum a 4 bedroom house on one charge.

    • +4

I have a Dyson V6. Battery is almost dead.
      Battery replacement costs $110

Should I buy the Viomi A9 instead?

      • +7

Search Aliexpress, you should be able to buy aftermarket replacements for $35ish
Probably wont be as good as an on brand replacement but it'll most certainly be better than your current one.

Friend of mine did the same a while back and was beside himself with how much better it ran, the swap is easy its like a drill battery but it has a locking screw in the handle.

      • I'm in the same boat.

Replacement is $79 + $10 delivery on the Dyson website. Aftermarket ones are available on eBay for $30-35.

        • +4

Skip the aftermarket ones, they only last a couple of months. Just get the genuine one, will last you another few years.

          • @tukanglistrik: Yeh I was thinking non genuine may die early

            • +3

@yellowfever: I regretted buying one, and has since replaced it with a genuine battery. Been using the genuine one for almost 2 years now and still good as new.

          • @tukanglistrik: My aliexpress battery pack has been going strong for two years. $35 or something, if memory serves me correct.

        • The battery on my dc35 died so I got an unbranded one for $35 on eBay which had about 25% more Ah. Had it over a year now, still going strong. I guess its a lottery.

      • same. my V6 died and i just got the A9 from aldi yesterday. its good but not as good as the V6.
Im still happy with the A9 though. It picks up well, its just not as powerful and the battery life is shorter

    • +1

I bought one and went back the next day and got another one. This is a damn nice vacuum, battery lasts for ages, great build quality, stainless steel filter and all the pieces that get dirty are washable. The soft rollers don't get clogged with hair and works amazing on wood and tile floors. Yes ok ok I love vacuuming fine. The name should also give you a hint that this is a Xiaomi brand. I especially love it cause the white one looks like a storm troopers vacuum. I play star wars when I'm using it.

  • +3

Paid $179 for Viomi A9 Stick a few months back. It's a good vacuum.

  • Thanks Aldi. Hopefully Bunnings does anyone cracker deal on the brushless impact driver skin alone then like last time.

Even though I'm probably resist buying one again cos I doubt my Ryobi one is going to die anytime soon with such little use :P

  • -4

Personally I wouldn't bother with anything from Aldi that has moving parts. The odds are that the drill and driver combo will be pretty crappy quality and knackered within a year or two. I'd save up and buy something better quality if it were my money.

    • +2

The Aldi Ferrex tools are pretty decent for DIY.
However right now you can still find some 20V tools on clearance at Autobarn, compatible with Ferrex batteries.

Ozito, Ferrex, Aldi 20V, they're all from the same factory so quality is comparable

      • Could you post a link to tools from Autobarn compatible with Ferrex batteries? Thanks!

        • +1

i just jumped on the autobarn site and searched '20V' - judging by the shape of the batteries, it looks like all of them are compatible with the Aldi batteries. I reckon that $99 brushless hammer drill is the exact same one as my aldi workzone (before branding switched over to ferrex), which is a great drill and would definitely recommend at that price.

    • +3

I have a few aldi battery tool and they're quality built tools, the only one died was the circular saw, replacement was easy, just uploaded the receipt and they sent another one and I got to keep the old one. With 5 year warranty for <$100 tool is excellent value for money. I could've opened the broken one and change the fuse to bring it back to life but can't be bothered.

      • the only one died was the circular saw, replacement was easy, just uploaded the receipt and they sent another one and I got to keep the old one.

Lucky. The only thing I've used that died a circular saw too, but I got the line that they can't fix or replace it, forced refund.

        • That's the main reason for me to go with Ozito - replacement at Bunnings in any time. Also if I want to buy another tool, I don't need to wait for a special like with Aldi. If Aldi opened an e-shop when you can buy Ferrex tools at any time, I would be all over it.

  • Does anyone know the model number of the sound bar? BigW has a Philips on sale for $90 or so, just wondering if they are comparable, I'm in the market for one or two of those.

    • The Aldi Philips Soundbar looks pretty weak.. 2 x 15W Speaker Output. That's not great at all.

      • Thanks, maybe I'll just get a generic $50 one from Kmart.

        • The Philips one would probably be better build quality and more reliable. I doubt the $50 Kmart one would be better. If you can stretch to around $120 budget, you're going to open yourself up to much better options for something more half decent then what these would do. Kmart one might not even have bluetooth. Not really sure what you are looking for exactly but even the one for $99 from JB below for example is world's above the Aldi or Kmart one.

          https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/ffalcon-2-1ch-soundbar-wi…

          • +1

@Justin9mm: Thanks it didn’t even cross my mind to check out jb hifi, really not a sound person haha Gonna fish for some gift cards and get a pair of those :)

  • I want to buy that e scooter but not sure if I can secure one or not. Is it also available on their website?
Aldi is 5mins walk but I will be at work when they open in the morning.

    • +3

take the week off prior and camp outside the store

  • Scooter looks exactly like a Mi Scooter Pro 2?

  • How's the monitor for basic work stuff like spreadsheet, docs, Teams, etc…and watching YouTube videos?

    • It would be fine. It's like a 1080p monitor at the end of the day and YouTube vids look fine at that resolution.

  • -1

Does that look like a manual or motorised height adjustable desk to y'all?

  • +3

Im in need of some cameras, anyone have experience with these?

  • +1

Can anyone make out the model # of the LG 34" ultrawide monitor? Trying to see how it compares to other retailer pricing.

    • I'm guessing it's the LG 34WL500-B based on the photo and specs. The weight is wrong, but the same model in the 29" has 7.5kg as it's packed weight.

  • How fast are TVs selling out at Aldi these days? This one looks a winner but not interested in fighting people off at opening time

    • There is some competition from other generic brands of JBHifi or Goodguys, offers same performance and close price, so I think your chance for getting one is high.

    • I got one at 7pm at Aldi Gladesville (NSW) yesterday, there were six left.

      • Managed to get one too. Incredible TV for the price. WebOS on a $500 screen is a bargain.

        • Yeah, I was massively worried that I'd be buying a $500 lemon, but so far so good. Played some 4k content off my local network and it looked brilliant. Obviously not up there with $3500 OLED sets, but hey - it was $500 =0)

  • keyboard looks good, should i sell my jelly epoch and get this instead?

  • +2

Any reports on the delonghi dedica coffee machine?

  • Anyone tried these security cameras before? I'm tossing up between these and other brands. These seem a lot cheaper. Also the inflatable spa at $499 seems expensive. I can't see the details on it, but im sure bestway lay-z spas can be purchased for around the $350 mark online.

    • These look identical to the $99 single wifi cameras they sold a while back, and the reviews for those are less than great as you can see on product reviews…probably best to spend a few more dollars and go with something more reliable.

  • Never bought a deal like this from Aldi before…Seen comments where you gotta camp outside at 7am LOL I live in the suburbs so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue on a Wednesday morning

    • +3

      Prepare to be disappointed.

  • Soundbar any good?

  • The question is, will they be in stock before Christmas? Just managed to pick up a ladder that arrived in store last week - it was advertised as on sale 7 weeks ago!

  • Can anyone advise if this lg monitor is going to better than the dell s2722dc..i have ordered 4 of them for work . Thanks

  • hey guys, I checked the ALDI website but cannot find any upcoming msg on black Friday, is this legit? cheers

  • Wow, the LG monitor seems nice!

  • +2

Word of advice the glass on these Bauhn TV's is super thin I bought a few for call stats, along with sonic, kogan & TCL. 3 of the TV's developed cracked screens, just being hit with nerf balls. only the Bauhn TV's broke so if you have young kids or want to use in a call centre look elsewhere.

    • Thank you for that information, how does it compare otherwise with above brands? is WebOS really slow on it or fast?

  • any1 bought Ferrex drill set? Any experience on this product?

  • As someone not well versed in computer specs how good is the laptop deal? Looking to upgrade from a 5+ year old macbook as it cant run heavy applications and has obviously aged.

Any other deals comparable to this for laptops in upcoming Black Friday sales?

    • Considering you are an apple user I wouldn't recommend it. You are used to different standards and are definitely better off with a new macbook air or similar

    • +1

A M1 MacBook Air is the easiest recommend for any Mac user on older hardware.

  • is this pretty much unobtainable deal (LG monitor) unless u camp?

    • All good Aldi deals require camping.

  • 2560 x 1080 on 34 inch is an insult for anyone who isn't half blind

  • Assuming Bunnings does the usual Ozito price match, does anyone know how early in advance we can expect to see the Ozito prices?

  • Hmmm, the catalogue in WA doesn't list the laptop. Looking at the fine print on the screenshots from this post, it looks like WA is excluded from the online items?

  • Anyone know the HDMI version for the 60", would it be okay for a ps5?

    • I just bought this TV yesterday evening - we'd been wanting to upgrade for a while from our 40 inch, and the lack of features aren't a massive deal.

The manual doesn't seem to talk about the HDMI version at all, but I'm positive it's not 2.1. I played a few games last night (mostly had to work, unfortunately), and while it's a definite upgrade, it's nowhere near as nice as my friend's LG CX. Input lag is not noticable, but there's some minor noticable motion blur in fast moving games like Returnal.

For the money, I'm very happy with it. Street Fighter V on PS5 at that size looks fantastic as well.

  • Anyone got any information about quality of TV? Also does it have a VESA mount?

    • Bought one yesterday evening.

      Yes - has VESA mount.

So far so good. Played some 4K content off the local network and it looked really great. Obviously not gonna be as good as a high-end OLED, but for the price I'm very happy.

  • Anyone got opinions on the Smart Wireless Cameras?

  • Anyone know how the tower fan might stack up against the Xiaomi Smartmi 2S or 3? Looking to grab a fairly quiet, wireless fan for summer and this seems similar enough.

  • Hi, my local has stock of the 60" WebOS tomorrow, so I am tossing up between Aldi and this Kogan one.
The Kogan has Android and Google Assistant https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-58-4k-uhd-hdr-led-smart-t…
Has anyone purchased one of the Kogan ones or could recommend one over the other.

The Kogan is about $50 more when you add shipping.
Any help to decide would be appreciated.

  • What are everyone’s thoughts on the Ultra Wide monitor for PC gaming?

    • only 1080p at 60hz, better off trying to get a xiaomi 34" that are 2k and have a better refresh rate :)

  • Viomi vacuum is on the no show list!

    • Were loads available in my local store.

      Monitors sold out instantly.

      • In Victoria none

        • I was at Carnegie in Victoria. Probably a dozen left on the palette at 9am

        • There's heap on the 3 Aldi I just went.

10.15 AM - 5+ more at Aldi Sanctuary Lake Point Cock
10.30 AM - 8+ more at Aldi Point Cock Town Centre
It seems you didn't explore more Aldi yet XD

  • I queued from 8:15 and did not get the scooter. They only have 1!!
Now I end up with a helmet I bought last night and no scooter.

  • Waited 1 hour and no scooter :(

    • I did not wait that long but also no scooter. I was looking for it but went pass it, and someone else took the box then I realized i missed the only one…

  • Got the monitor and scooter. Arrived 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line, but they had plenty of stocks

    • Which Aldi if you don’t mind me asking?

  • +1
