  • Thanks, was just about to grab one through MyAnker ($1.01 dearer).

For anyone who's looking at Eufy stuff, they have a sale on over there with a bunch of things (Picked up a few Floodlight Cam Pro's for $359.99)

    • Just went through their website and didn’t see anything on sale

      • For some reason the Sale Offers link isn't shown on the homepage, here it is: MyAnker

This one used to sell on AliExpress for $60, now it’s kinda expensive for Australian buyers

    • ummm no it wasnt…

I got one of these back in April for about 58 bucks. I would've gotten more if I'd known they'd wind up this much. It works great as a baby monitor, and even has a mode to specifically detect a baby crying, that actually works perfectly.

    • I wonder if the tilt n pan worth $30-$40 more than the regular one? Thanks

      • For me the tilt and pan is actually useful because we move the babies bassinet around, so can just move the camera remotely to follow it. It can also be set to automatically track a person moving around, so useful for security purposes as well; a bit creepy where you're the "target" 😄.

  • I can relate. Seriously one of the best indoor cams and it was on aliexpress for $50-60. Now it’s hard to pay $100+. 🤯

I bought one of these about a year ago off AliExpress for $55 to use as a baby monitor and then another this year locally for $110 locally to use as a security cam, as AliExpress won’t ship most Eufy products to Australia anymore. I have had a mixed experience.

    The good -

    • The feature set is great and the phone app is generally pretty good, allowing for motion and sound detection alerts.
    • Motion detection can be used to trigger custom Alexa routines.
    • An ‘away’ mode that can trigger an alarm from the camera’s speakers upon motion detection, etc.
    • No subscription fee.

    The bad -

    • The web page is feature lacking and unreliable. I haven’t worked out if there’s a set period it can connect to live video for or if it just cuts out.
    • The Alexa skill is feature lacking and unreliable, often not connecting and delayed in motion video triggers and live video.
    • The eufy products (or the software for them) seem to have been developed by different teams and aren’t consistent in feature set or implementation. Eg. These indoor cams store video on an SD card and aren’t compatible with the homebase that the battery operated cams use.
    • Support from eufy seems to include many delays and broken promises.

Thanks for the review. This particular point is a real bummer.

      • because they use wifi and not a closed signal like the base station versions

    • Wait, are you saying I can't be away from home and log onto the EUFY app and see a video feed from this camera?

I have the non-pan 2k version of this and it absolutely does that. If this can't, but of a bummer.

      • You can see the video feed and recordings from the SD card.

        • AWesome thanks, and i presume you can pan/tilt the camera too.

If so, will make an excellent babycam particularly if you are already invested in the Eufy ecosystem

    • Ah, so we can't use this camera with homebase hub?? That really sux! I just assumed it will since it's in same ecosystem.

      • Yea, it's a bit weird, but all the wired, non-battery operated cameras seem to use either an SD, which means they don't need the homebase. But per answer above, you can still use live view and view recordings through the app.

        • Hmm wonder if it's by design.. Sucks tho. Any link for the battery operated ones or at least the one we can use with homebase? What i want to do with homebase is set homebase as siren at night like I do with doorbell. Thanks

    • Yeah I agree with these points, I was also disappointed to find it wasn't compatible with my existing eufy home base. You also can't have the video stream open on your phone or PC for more than a couple minutes, without having to constantly refresh/reload when the feed dies.

      • Thanks for this info… No deal then in this case. Wonder the normal one/ non tilt and pan can connect to homebase.

        • I'm pretty sure all the wired, non-battery operated cams need an SD card and can't (or don't need to) connect to the homebase.

          • @4155580: Thanks, can it act as a siren for motion detect camera? My doorbell is now acting as a motion detect alarm with homebase as the siren. Thanks

            • @Bargain-er: It does have an in-built alarm, but will sound from the unit itself, not the home base (because you can't connect to the base).

          • @4155580: Home base connection is good for single point of storage for all you recordings, as well as being an actual speaker for any alarms etc. Having to manage an SD card in each camera defeats the purpose of having a home base.

            • @happykamper: Exactly my thought… Now I have a second thought to switch to Arlo ecosystem lol. Or any camera suitable for eufy homebase integration? Thanks

      • I've found the native app on mobile pretty good. It very rarely disconnects for me.

  • For those interested, these work pretty well with HomeKit. I picked one up a few weeks ago for $109, I was waiting for a cheaper price and looks like it finally came. I mainly got it to try out the HomeKit Secure Video stuff, and it works as well as I hoped. (initially had some issues with it recording, but a reboot/re-add seemed to fix it).

    • Hi aeon, can you control the pan and tilt in Homekit?

  • I haven't tried this camera but been using two imou Ranger 2 cameras (not 2K though) and it seems to meet most of the features above. The app works well and alerts to my phone and loading the feed is quite quick both at home on wifi and when out. Picked them up for approx $50-60 from BPC's ebay store.

    • Link? Can it trigger an alarm and act as motion detect camera/sensor? Thanks

  • Bought one of these last week, so far working a treat. Have it running on a continous recording cycle for the house while we leave our pup at home. Connecting and setting up was easy. Would reccomend it if youre in need of one.

    • Are you just recording to the internal SD card in the camera? Just curious what size card you're using, and how much footage you can get on that. I imagine that's a lot of wear on the card doing all day, every day writes.

      • I have a 65 gb which provides 6 days they reckon on a loop… they also say it can take 500 looped recording on the SD before it goes caput. So even if I had to replace it every 2nd year a $15 microsd is worth it

  • the 11/11 sales just went by, but anyway was thinking could use a shipping forwarder for aliexpress purchases….instead of paying this marked up AU price

I had bought 3 Pan&Tilt + x1 stationary one, but having an additional x2 or 3 to cover different areas won't hurt (aiming out of window) / covering living room/home office or even rig 1 outside under eaves

  • umm this is the same price as the one at bunnings?
