Hass is like a red haired kid.

    • One to Two percent of the population?
More popular among people of Northern or Northwestern European ancestry and lesser frequency in other populations?

Sad, but true: I came here to write the same thing, word for word. Yes, even the extra sibilance on the verb.

No "e" in avocados for mine. My family used to have a few avocado trees. This was before people were smashing them. Wish we still had the trees (and the land they were on - Mount Tamborine, Gold Coast hinterland).

My local fruit shop has had cheaper than this for months, I got 2kg for $2 last week.
Quality fluctuates, galling is an issue sometimes.

    • The time hass come to find cheap deals, Avocadon’t get me started me the quality.
Everything I avo wanted, I avocadon’t care as long as they are fresh.
Things are allripe for now, A move in the ripe direction

That limit is per transaction. Therefore, it is not Broden-proof.

The farmers are throwing avocados out, couldn't we have better deals than $1/avo?

    • The reason is that it is uneconomical for them to pack and transport them at current prices

      • No, it is because they aren't selling enough to warrant transporting them.

Because coles are ripping people off by charging $1.

        • Coles give them 20c for these Avos whether they sell or not to the farmer

    • +1

Of course we could, local fruit shops offer deals but the major supermarkets do what they do.

  • Cocos at Annerley Brisbane had them for sale at 2 for $1, bought some yesterday and they are large ones too !

  • Hass means in German “hate” by the way…

  • I heard 🥑 are cheaper than 🍌. People should eat as much as they can now before the prices go back up.

  • Wonder why they are so cheap at the moment?

    • Big harvest this year

  • Still a rip. Should be 20 cents since they are having to dump them.

    • They are dumping them because it's uneconomical to sell them for $1 with transport and packing

  • NSW seems to be $1.50 each still.

  • Coles in Middle Camberwell (VIC) was $1.50 today.
