Yep plug in the Netgear into the nbn NTD.
from their site in comments: "Yes, this router is NBN ready. Please note that this is only a standalone router, as such the supplied modem by your ISP is still required. Please note that in order to have this router to work with your existing modem, additional steps to configure the router may be required."
ISP modem is only required for FTTN and FTTB or if you use VoIP from select ISPs. If you don't plug in the Netgear into the nbn NTD or nbn NCD.
FTTN user here :) Any suggestions for a netgear router with similar specs with inbuild modem?
Nothing from Netgear. TP-Link and AVM Fritzbox VDSL2 modems are good for FTTN.

So long as it's central (which you can achieve using a pair of EoP plugs, if your internet doesn't enter the house centrally) then, odds are very good it'll be perfect. :)

How do I use this? I have NBN FTTN with the shitty modem that is supplied by TPG. We have 3 people WFH and the signal is bad. Does this replace thay modem or is this used in some other way? I need better signal but I have no experience with meshing and whatnot. Most of these acronyms make no sense to me.
It won't replace the modem; FTTN still needs a separate modem for a router to work. If it has a bridge mode, set it to that then connect it to the router's WAN port. Otherwise, set up the router in Access Point mode and disable your FTTN modem's wifi.
Thanks for the reply, I have the TPG VR1600V, if I put it into bridge mode I lose VoIP capability which I think we need for work.
Would using it as an AP still allow VoIP capability that do you think?
Using the Netgear configured as the Wi-Fi access point allows you to use VoIP from TPG.
Do I even need VoIP? We just need to call ppl via Teams and sometimes to mobile numbers through the work network.

Superior LAN speed and OS, lacking the 2.5G port tho, I have a 8 port 2.5g switch which is not a problem for me, but both missing Lan aggregation features

Why wouldn't it work?. I was with Optus cable for two decades and on Monday they terminated my connection. Signed up with Superloop and they're sending out a technician to install the internal cabling and give me the connection box in order to connect the router.
Since it's a HFC connection i won't need a modem. This deal came at the perfect moment as i was going to purchase an older router(Asus RT-AC86U) instead.
Actually the nbn connection box is a HFC DOCSIS 3.1 modem.
Netgear is compatible with Optus nbn HFC.
To keep automatic 4G fail over and VoIP.
- Plug in Netgear to the Sagemcom LAN port.
- Configure Netgear as the Wi-Fi access point.
If you don't care about automatic 4G fail over and VoIP.
- Remove Optus modem
- Wait at least 30 minutes.
- Get the ethernet cord coming from the nbn NTD and plug it into the internet port on the Netgear.
- When the Netgear router asks does my ISP use a login? pick no.
Wait guys I got FTTC does this router work with that?
I have 40 ish devices including 30+ IoT and lots of them uses reserved static IP. I got this router, set it all up and it somehow reverted to factory settings overnight. Did a setup again next morning and this time its holding up. I however had to restart the router once because it lost internet connectivity. Not off to a great start but hopefully no more hiccups.
Been using Amplifi HD for over two years without any issue. Upgraded to this for better range and control.
NBN hfc compatible ? Using an old modem supplied by aussiebroadband but range is woeful and not convinced gett8ng best out of 250 plan
