  • Please add the product tags, I think most of those are already in the OzB database. Some notes:

    • 177X GO has probably been eclipsed by the new DT 700 Pro X, but there's a lot more rave reviews about the DT 900 Pro X.
    • Elex is a bit boring if A2A do a clearance run on the Elear or the old Clear
    • Standard 789 sale
    • Decent price on the Dan Clark Closed, but don't expect miracles out of mid-fi and high-end closed backs
    • Dan Clark Open should probably be skipped in favour of the HIFIMAN Edition XS via AliE on 11.11

Weak deals so far, hopefully it picks up steam through November.

    • Agreed that I'm hoping for better deals through November, although a couple things
      * The DT 700 Pro X is really a replacement for the DT770, from what I've read the 177X Go is a level above in terms of detail, and have heard the 700 Pro X be described as a bit lifeless, but as I haven't heard them my self take it with a grain of salt.
      * Opinions on the Dan Clark Closed seem to be massively split, while they look very comfortable, I've heard they sound a bit lifeless as well
      * Elex is the best in this circumstance as both the old clear and elear are out of stock and have been discontinued, so you can't get them anymore from what I can see.

Elear does seem to be out of local stock.

I thought the same initially, but the 700 X and 900 X are an entirely new product segment. 177X is not well regarded, unless you wanted a blunted version of the 1770.

Frankly I would just go for the AKG K371 for a closed back, maybe the 1more Triple Driver Over-Ear or the Dan Clark if you want something spicier.

The Dan Clark Closed is sometimes called 'lifeless' because it's not got a harman bass shelf or mid-bass bloat that people expect from closed backs these days.

        • I was referring to the original Elear and Clear, the Clear Professionals have only been down to $1199, and having heard them before I think they're too similar to justify an extra $450, but some may

    • +1

And the DT 700 Pro X is cheaper at $309 from Umart
