"currently have the 98" Neo QLED Samsung in the main living room on the 1st floor. best tv ever"

Just to inform you, that TV is factually nowhere near the best TV ever.

      • -2

never said it was, it was just the best i could afford.
but while you are busy judging my tv, what do you have? i bet mine is bigger and better, lol.

        • +2

You literally said it, I quoted you.
If you're going to brag, at least do it factually.

@ronburgundy11: im not bragging, why would you think im bragging? sorry that you're miserable, but my life is great. i don't come on here just to bash people, that's a waste of time and energy. don't forget, i love you.

what tv do you have since you are very knowledgeable of tvs. don't be shy, what tv do you really have?

      • lol. Comparing a 1.5k tv to a 15k tv, which i wouldn't even buy anyways. 4k Projectors would be 1/4 of the cost and produce almost as good picture. as the 98".

I have the 65" version, bought for $799 two years ago.

    1. Don't rely on the TV operating system, get a Google TV
    2. Use a smart switch to turn the TV off at night, if you leave it on standby too long, the operating system grinds to a halt, making it almost unusable.

    My 2c.

    • cannot leave on standby for too long? isn't that one of the main functions of any TV?!
      crap TV!!

      • No one of the main functions of a tv is to display the tv/movie/picture

I have a 55” Braun. Look it goes alright, but it is very much ‘You get what you pay for’. It turns on fast (a lot faster than my TCL with Android TV). Note, my TV doesn’t have Web OS, but has a couple of apps and they are terrible. Barely load, and when they do, don’t often work. But an Apple TV has fixed the need for that. One of the HDMI slots produces a small white line on the bottom, but barely noticeable and I don’t worry about it.

At the end of the day, I won’t buy one again, but it’s good for a spare TV or if you want size over quality

Edit: Although in saying that, I’d buy it over the TCL I have any day.

I might pop down to the store just to watch people trying to stuff them into their RAV4s or Klugers ;)

    • Online Only so no punch ups, just FB whinging they didn't get one

Don’t need to be Bauhn with money to afford this.

  • I bought the 55" Bauhn from Aldi back in April 2021. 4 Months later by August on a Saturday we were watching it in the morning. Come the afternoon we turned it on again and it started glitching where the screen would flash artifacts every 3 seconds. Had to get Warranty which was unnecessarily annoying, took 2 weeks to pick it up and another 3 weeks for refund. I'm currently stuck using a 10 year old 32 inch tv my Dad found on the side of the road.

Tv was good when it was working but the app store severely limited the amount of apps. Like why isn't there a Disney plus app work for this? That being said I could still use Disney plus in the TV's browser.

Web OS is terrible as of now

Cant say I'd recommend Aldi Bauhn Tv's

    • its just made for landfill. Some are attracted to it's low cost for a big size and think it's value for money. But they don't recognise the potential issues you have experienced.

  • Interesting reading comments about utilising a chromecast… in less than 2 years I have gone through 2 chromecast ultras… first one last about 4 months and they replaced… now 18 months later it’s apparently out of warranty… spend the extra and get an Apple TV.. it’s not worth the headache of explaining to kids that the chromecast is broken again!

    • I have 3 gen 1 Chromecasts still going strong. Only issue I had was the dynamic IP wouldn't connect reliably with the devices. Set them up as static and no issues since.
Wouldn't have upgraded to google tv if I didn't want 4k. No issues to date

  • So anyone buy one of these yet ? I just ordered one as my 10 year old Bauhn 65 inch needs an upgrade.

OK, so rather than bad mouth a tv without trying it ( hint hint ), I put my money where my mouth is . For $1499 we have a bargain here. Got mine yesterday, and after the usual digging through picture settings etc to clean up image quality, I am very happy with the product. Of course FTA tv struggles to look great on an 85 incher, but I can live with that. Some of the 4K hdr stuff I’ve been looking at is stunning. No visible pixel or other faults. Sound is not great but we know how to solve this. A very nice quality feeling remote, and the WebOs is quick and smooth. I couldn’t find any reviews on this set, pretty sure people don’t even know it’s on sale, as it hasn’t appeared in Aldi brochures. Very happy.

It’s a great TV. Forget every previous comment above bad mouthing the thing without seeing it or trying it. My Firestick 4K detects this tv as being an LG…..Even 1080i fta looks half decent with tweaking, and there is a LOT of adjustability. The ultimate test for me is my habit of lying directly in front of a tv on the floor ( bad back😪 ) , so only 6ft from the screen, and all my favourites, YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ all look stunning in 4K and even just HD. Zero smudgy pixelation in dark scenes etc, just a bright clear solid picture from all sources, no light bleed at the edges etc.
