There truly is a day for everything. I love it

  • I would be keen to know what makes someone decide to purchase a $1500 pen?
Is it something an artist would buy, or a business person..
    I'm genuinely interested to know.

    • $1500 pens are usually just for collecting and not designed for being everyday writers … yes people collect pens …..and bottles of grange, etc so $1500 isn’t over the top for a hobby item.

i don’t have an $1500 pen but a few $500 pens, i use them at work as i still takes notes draw diagrams, etc and fountain pen, gel, or roller ball are soooo much better than ball points. with fountain pens i get a large selection of colours in ink.

the pens i have, i like the looks, and that has cost the premium, in regards to write quality , about the same as a chinese $40 fountain pen or $100 japanese fountain pen.

      • Thanks for the explanation. I have like $700 in booktopia vouchers but I have a Kobo ereader and just borrow all of my ebooks through the library app. I was thinking about getting a fountain pen but they only have 2 one is like $200 but it's pink and the other is around $750. I don't know if I can justify spending that much… even though it's not really costing me anything.

spend less on a fountain pen , especially if you don’t know if you like fine or medium nibs from a manufacturer, and use it rather than spend a lot and keep it in a draw …. they have some pilot metro fountain pens under $50 , physically a bit small but great writers …..

        • Which library app is this? Thanks

  • Thks Op. Just bought a Kaweco PERKEO Fountain Pen just recently from another seller as keen to improve my handwriting. Good timing for some extra bits, and why not a steath black version of the Perkeo

  • upvote from me cause FP are great to write and sketch.
for anyone looking for a FP for everyday office use, the Pilot Vanishing Point is a great pen.
