  • What!?! It's like the 3rd time within 2 months!

But it's a good monitor (looking at it right now!).

I feel slight regret in getting this in that I think my workflow is more suited to 1 big monitor than 2 smaller ones (I dual screen with a Benq at work).

EDIT: go through starthere.com to get a further 7% off…

    • December, Jan, March twice :D

  • My work colleague, bought one for $329, trying to haggle down the dell guy over the web chat.. and that was the lowest price he'd go!

Then today my mate found out it was up there for $279! Went straight back on the dell website to complain haha.. he actually was refunded the difference!

Holy *&^t, I hope he has since learned how to OzBargain!!

      • lol what do you mean? He even told the dell guy that if he gave him a lower price it would make him feel better.. but he still didn't accept it at $279 yesterday.. $329 was his final offer.. lol

    • Yeah I tried to get one for 279 just before the last deal. They would only go to 329 even after I pointed out the last couple of deals for $279. I didn't buy though, said shove it, then 2 days later they went to $279 again!

  • Has anyone noticed the flicker from the led back light? Using any less than 100 percent brightness causes the PWM flicker.

  • Have you got to do something to get it for $279. The link is broken and when I search the screen it is showing $329..?

    • What link is broken? Mine or thru the dell website?

      • Disregard, its back.
Said page not found the first time..

  • Wondering what the world going to be like with Windows 8 and touch screen monitor. Dell is trying to make more sales leading to Windows 8.

    Don't forget to + Me! :)

  • In addition to this deal, they have also repeated the deal on the U2711 ($719), and have a reasonable discount off the U3011 ($$1,189 - a discount of $510 off their current RRP)

  • 82% color gamut is terrible. My 24" monitor has 133% gamut.

If it's the Dell U2410, it's also a lot more expensive. Most "normal" monitors out there that use TN panels and regular old CCFL are even lower.
You also need to remember most things are designed for the lowest common denominator; since most people use "low" gamut displays, some programs and web pages may look gaudy and neon-like, since they weren't designed properly with high gamut displays in mind.

  • I bought one at the last sale and don't regret it. It's completely worth it.
