  • Does Amazon have their version of casting to this? How do you do it?

    • +1

Miracast - not specifically Amazon but is used for casting.

If you're considering this vs Google TV with Chromecast, the Chromecast option works better.

  • Does it do anything different or better than what an Apple TV does (other than cost)?

  • OOS now

  • Team, tried Google but not very fruitful. Can I cast to two firesticks at the same time?

    • +1

Curious, what's the use case? Display in the living room AND in the toilets so you don't miss a thing during urgency? :-)

      • Have two TVs in a cafe that I work in. that's why😊

  • does anyone know how to disable the ads on when watching Youtube through 4k firestick? it's way too frequent and annoying compare if you watch it from laptop/phone

    • There is an unofficial Youtube app that does it, I can't remember it's name ATM. Will update when brain wakes up.

      • Vanced youtube?

        • +4

          Nah not vanced

  • So American that it does not have Kayo Sport available to download as an app … hopeless.

    • I have Kayo on my 4k max and works perfectly

I wrote to firestick and they said no ? How do you get it when it's not on the Amazon app store.

        • +2

          I sideloaded it

  • Can you get the Kayo app on this Firestick?

  • +2

Motherf….ordered one @ $59 then went to bed last night.

    • Try asking Amazon for $10 credit.

    • Has it shipped yet? You may still be able to cancel and buy from GG / JB.

      • Yeah. It has shipped. I should be able to return it right?

        • You have to pay for postage if you return due to change of mind on pricing

  • If anyone finds an OCR cable that works with this particular unit to add an external usb drive to watch movies, please hit me up with a link.

  • +1

Big W have them for the same price - just ordered one for C&C now

Fire TV 4k is back in stock on Amazon.com.au a few minutes ago, can't believe Amazon Fire TV stick can run out on Amazon…

  • Will it output 5.1 Dolby Digital through Prime? I can not get Prime to output 5.1 any way I try it, and have read everything I can. Receiver is HDMI (quite old) and plays DD and lots of formats, but not the new DD+ / Atmos. Prime casted on Chromecast or native installed on CCWGTV will not.

    • Soj I have an idea for you but a hdmi switch with support on 4k and with 5.1 and DTS or Dolby support with Optical audio output.

Put the Firestick 4k on one of its inputs, output audio to optical to your old receiver.

Unless DD+ Atmos has to be HDMI only then you got no choice

I have a old receiver that cannot do any Dolby not even pass audio over HDMI but I'm using optical to get sound

      • Thanks, I can get stereo sound from my HDMI but not DD. This method sends the same as the HDMI, which is only stereo, via the optical. For some reason Prime will not send just DD. Looks to be only capable of sending DD+ or stereo.

  • OOS again, how can amazon run out of its own product

  • Amazon applied a $20 credit to me on checking out.. so its only costing $29.50… should I go for it?

    • Damn. 50 cents better than my offer from Amazon via chat. Although I got the credit applied back to my card. I got away with using the 40% off code.

      • How?

        • I got on chat last night and told them my code expired but it was only 9pm my time in WA. Their solution was to give me $20 back on my card when it shipped (which occurred today).

I later realised the 40% off code was supposed to be off the RRP. Feel bad for that. 😏

    • How is that possible, it's OOS

      • Did it last night.

  • Anyone having issues playing prime video content?
