  • How would this compare to poco f3?

    • Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G vs 870

This phone should have much better camera

The CPU performs similarly to the SD 870 with the 870 pulling ahead. But the GPU on the SD 778G is worse. The SD 870 uses older less efficient A77 cores and does not have an integrated 5G modem like the SD 778G.

Haven't looked at comparison shots between the Poco and Mi 11 Lite, but low light and overall camera performance should be similar between both. Each has a 1/2" sensor, 48MP vs 64MP is a meaningless spec. Both the Xiaomi Note 9 Pro and 10 Pro will perform better as they have larger sensors.

Edit: This has an SD card slot while the Poco F3 doesn't. Note 9 and 10 Pro SOCs are quite a bit weaker.

    • The selling point of this phone is its weight, about 160g

  • All the phone deals at the moment are meh. I assume this is because of the global chip shortage so there's no incentive for these companies to really discount their tech products.

I've been looking to replace my almost 3 year old Xperia XZ2 but I haven't found a killer deal yet.

better off getting a Poco X3 Pro for $100 cheaper?

i had this phone a short while, its realy light, the screen is nice, camera wise i felt it did worse than my mi9 lite. it seemed a bit laggy when taking burst shots or sometimes opening the camera app. i just used stock rom, my use is web browsing, line, skype and camera. also the colours of the phones are nothing like the pics, the yellow one was a little lime and iridescent, not canari yellow
At the time i thinkthe consensus was the poco was the gaming choice

I'm a bit wary of Xiaomi AMOLED screens. I had a Mi 9T for 12 mths and then suffered from worsening ghost touches.
The phone became unusable. Googling indicated it is a hardware failure with the screen.
I replaced it with a Poco X3. Although the screen isn't as nice, there are no touch issues and the phone is noticeably faster.
