  • I ordered one of these TVs this evening and my Good Guys order history it says the product is back ordered. There was nothing in the confirmation email that indicated there would be a delay. I'm not too concerned but I do hope the next shipment from China is already well on its way.

    • +1

My online order details showed "back ordered" until five minutes before delivery. I don't think they bother updating it.

After spending hours to find the correct phone number to check on an online order, I was told it was ready to be delivered and I could book in the next day.

Call this number 1300 352 929 and ask them to provide an ETA.

      • Thanks @Pmtablah, it’s good to know that it’s worth following up. I’ve never had a purchase delivered from The Good Guys before and I might have let it go quite a while since pretty much everything gets delayed these days.

        • Anyone got a delivery in the last few days or eta?? I called my local good guys as order confirmation is from them, called them up and say there is no stock available and not sure about ETA, and the good guys listing for this TV also noted will not be backfield.

          • @AitC: I submitted an online enquiry yesterday, and within a couple of hours the status of my order changed to ‘ready for pick up’ and I received a call from my nearest store (in Melbourne) to arrange delivery. The TV is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I’m not sure whether this is normal for the Good Guys - perhaps it’s just coincidence that the stock arrived or the system was updated after I contacted them, but it sounds like it happened to Pmtablah too.

  • My tv has a green pixel that is stuck every time I use it after the second day. It’s small but it’s annoying that it’s there. Is this covered under warranty and would I have to pay for it to be shipped back? (It’s too bulky for my car). Does anyone have any experience with the good guys with dealing with this sort of thing and are they easy to deal with?

    • Got my TV picked up today and getting a refund as mine had a frozen blue pixel from the minute i turned it on.

Just call them and tell them you you want a refund and they need to come pick it up - under consumer law they have to pick it up if you cant as its considered a bulky item. Be aware they cant replace it as they don't have anymore avaliable. Which i was ok with anyway as the TV picture was ok on normal TV Viewing, but when i tested it for sport like AFL it was no good at all, couldn't keep up with the fast pace and actually made me feel sick watching it.

      • Did you have any cinematic stuff turned on? Normally need to turn that stuff off for sport.

So free to air didn't look too bad?

      • Anything below actual full HD or 4K will look shite

  • I got one of these from this special. Trying to tweak the settings using the service menu (Source 3195), following this comment guide https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/529317 but can't find the settings by their name (There are a heap of settings with similar names). Specifically trying to see if I can improve the ghosting/blur. Totally understand it's a 60hz panel and that may just be the way it is, but the specs of the panel itself imply that the response times should be 8ms.

    • Not in the normal settings under cinema mode on /off or low/mid/high?

      • No, there isn't even a 'Cinema' 'Movie' mode under picture settings in the normal mode. There is a movie mode in service menu :(
