Cheap but cl22 is pretty slow too. Had a look at them before but my xps with i7 has cl21. Running at 2933 will make these worse unfortunately

    • should be the same speed and latency as the xps i7-10700k —
this one is CL22 at 3200mhz vs XPS' CL21 at 3000/29333Mhz.

      • Im trying to get something like 2933 CL18 1.2V, but problem is most of new DDR4s are 3200+ CL16 in XMP profile, and their SPD is around 2166, unfortunately

I ordered the kit and plan to use it for my unraid build in which I don't think RAM timings would matter for my use case.

    • Well it comes down to the weakest link so the speed would be limited to the lowest in the pair, you won’t be worst off just that it is being throttled based on the weakest link. Does it make a difference in real world not really but depends on what your end target is.

    • All these are suitable for recent Dell G5 and XPS desktop models according to Crucial. They all run at 2933Mhz max anyway.

heat spreaders is overrated..it kind of useless or just for show.good deal

    • Unless you plan to overclock the RAM to the MAX, they aren't necessary because they shouldn't be producing alot of heat

What is this non RGB ram? Blasphemy.

      You only get the G.
The R and the B are 3x the cost.

Yeah saw these and questioned if they could really work with all that blandness.

Bought a 64GB kit for the home server, speed doesn't really matter there. Thanks.

These would be awesome if they're dual rank E-die.

    Can anyone verify?

apparently you can overclock the 32GB 2666MHz modules (CT32G4DFD8266) to 3600 MHz, CL 16-19-19-39

    • +1

That's very respectable for cheap ram. Got a link?

    • What about these?

  • need 64GB kit

  • Good for NAS and Office PC builds.

  • How are these with Unraid?

  • 32gb single stick for $199 at Amazon.

    • I saw that, any clue if it's 1r x 8 or 16?

  • Serious question, All you unraid builders, what is all the RAM good for?

I thought having a NAS was about throughout, what does having 64GB of RAM do to help that? Even transcoding for streaming would be more CPU / GPU limited.

Unless you are running multiple VMs on your server, what else does all that RAM give you, except a cache so large you risk data loss on power failure.

    • Sure, you could use up a lot of memory for RAM transcoding, but personally all my RAM is used by VMs, docker containers, and a database in a RAMdisk.

32GB has been fine for the last year, but I have to juggle VMs. I rarely drop below 90% utilisation. 64GB will be a bit more than I need right now with all the VMs booted, but it's breathing room for more experiments.
