This is about $240 cheaper than the one I got at Harvey Norman. Great prices.

    • +5

That’s Hardly Normal price for just a cable.

    • +14

Yeah but the one you got must be made of oxygen-free unobtainium.

    • +5

      It has anti-virus though.

    • +1

Wow… even with JobKeeper subsidies they still charge that much =/

  • +3

    How's the quality of these?

    • +3

All I can comment is that the one cable I own has never given me any issues. It's got a nice weight to it. There's not much more you can say about a cable. It does what it says on the tin. I think it represents good value, if that helps.

Are you really "associated with Baseus Global Store"?

        • lol

The OP is not going to confirm any time soon

        • The OP can neither confirm nor deny this assertion

      • dawn, I forgot to use the code

        • +1

Dawn told you to us it. That sucks though.

    • +2

      Bought a few. Like them.

  • Any hdmi 2.1 cable?

      • @bigrizz the 2 pack in 1m is dearer than 2 x 1m individually, someone needs to look into that.

      • +1

if only the code worked on these!

    • +1

A lot of people have issues with these cheap HDMI 2.1 cables. They are not certified, and they might struggle if you want to have 120Hz.

      • +1

        i don’t need 120hz but i need eARC

  • Anyone know if normal model or model B is preferred?

    • I think the difference is cosmetic. They're basically the same cable with a different shaped end on it. I have the normal model. I can't speak for the model B. It just comes down to which you like the look of more.

    • +1

I debated this for a few minutes and settled on the non-B version, they appear to have a better/longer rubber strain relief sleeve where the cable exits the plug…

      • +1

        that's why I got non-B version too

  • Will this solve my flickering screen?
Running 6600xt on 34 inch Xiaomi at 144hz

    • +6

Too many variables there, mate. Could be your screen, your machine, your cable or some form of external interference. It'll be a process of elmination. If you have other cables in the house, try those first. If they work, then it's a safe bet it's your cable at fault. I can't see why these cables wouldn't work for you, in that case.

I had an issue with my monitor and turned out my monitor had "amd freesync on" and I was using nvidia card. Never thought that setting on monitor will fix the issue but for me that was the problem. 8 changed cables, cards, power… Good luck

    • +3

I fixed mine by using DP cable.

  • +1

Recently bought brand's Premium 2.1 cable (8K suitable) and pretty happy with the Nylon build quality.
Is able to deliver 4K+ (Tested with 6K signal and ProRes 8K Raw).
Was thinking of doing a video on these cables.
    Can highly recommend.

  • why not get these cables from aliexpress instead? much cheaper except will take a bit longer to arrive

    • +7

You hit the nail on the head when you said, 'a bit longer to arrive'. Try A LOT longer. The same can be said with the vast majority of items on eBay, so I don't think what you're saying will come as news to anyone on OzB.

    • +2

except will take a bit longer to arrive

I think you just answered your own question.

  • -1

Is there much difference between HDMI V2.0 vs HDMI V2.1 cables?

    • +3

      hdmi 2.1: 4k@120Hz good for ps5/xbox

    • +3

      Google:

Currently, HDMI 2.0 cables are needed to achieve a 4K picture at 60fps or an 8K picture at 30fps. HDMI 2.1, on the other hand, promises 4K resolution at 120fps, 8K resolution at 60fps, and a ceiling that will ultimately support 10K resolution—whenever the industry happens to reach that point.

    • Is there much difference between HDMI V2.0 vs HDMI V2.1 cables?

Electrically? No. Every HDMI cable from the very beginning until now has exactly the same pinouts.

The difference comes down to how well the cable is constructed and how well it is shielded, which determines the maximum data rate it can handle without dropping out.

In fact, there is no such thing as a "v2.0" or "v2.1" cable. They could likely be identical but with the "2.1" cable having a premium slapped on it, because, 2.1. The cable should be tested to see if it successfully carries signals up to the full 2.1 (or whatever) spec, that's the only guarantee you have.

    • +3

Officially, yes. HDMI 2.0 supports 18Gbps whereas HDMI 2.1 supports 48Gbps. However, there are quite a few twists.

      • Majority of TVs with HDMI 2.1 support, at best support up to 40Gbps. Even Series X technically supports up to 40Gbps (and prefers uncompressed).
      • PS5 and some of the receivers does 32Gbps and opt to support compressed format.
      • So all these cable makers claiming support up to 48Gbps, what did they use to test?
      • There is compatibility issue between certain receivers and Series X (with some of the receivers requiring a board upgrade).
      • Do most of us really have the equipment to test it?

On the cable side, the twist is we don't really know the quality. There are some good quality HDMI 2.0 cables which actually passes HDMI 2.1 tests. There are also some supposedly HDMI 2.1 cables failing some of the HDMI tests. And, if we keep going down this cost path, there are some HDMI 2.0 cables which aren't capable of handling HDR.

A lot of people are buying HDMI 2.1 cables to use as HDMI 2.0 or 2.0a cables. As for certified HDMI 2.1 cables, honestly, unless you have ways to test them, you need to make sure you get the right batches to be sure. There had been bait and switch on USB-C cables (including ones which passed tests with flying colours, but the maker later swapped / introduced new batches which are inferior). Even Apple switched their 1m USB-C to lightning cable from USB 3 version to USB 2 version (Apple did drop the price and most people use that cable for charging). If you can stick with cables provided by the devices, those would be safer.

  • Does the code work for other products in the store?

    • +2

      doesn't on their 2.1 cables

      • -1

what are 2.1 cables? I'm looking at their iphone cables.

  • thanks, ordered one.

  • +1

they have to be monster 24 karat gold hdmi cables or i dont wantem

  • +1

Thanks OP. Ordered a couple. I have been using the same cables in 3M range for a while now and I can vouch, it is fantastic value for money. Can not fault it.

  • +1

i normally get Selby cables, which are very thick and are similarly priced to this deal… anyone used both?

    • No idea about Selby they are expensive and delivery is not free.

Audiophile swears by it about that stores cables though

  • Stock dispatched from China or Australia?

    • Given that my estimated delivery is next Monday. I'd say most likely from Australia and that's still quick for AP.

    • Sent from Chullora, NSW

  • Will this run 2k@144hz?

    • HDMI 2.0 should theoretically.

Best to confirm with the seller on eBay so you can return it if it doesn't.

  • So what's differ on these on Hdcp support??

  • should that code be working on the whole store? Trying to buy other cables and it's saying "This code can't be applied to some of your items"

    • +2

No, just the HDMI 2.0 cables.

  • +2

Thanks bought half a dozen to replace my set of 10-13 year old cables on HDMI 1.3

Quality was shocking as most of them can handle 720p fine but 1080p varies few ok the other 3 causes screen goes blank for a few seconds and come back

I assume it's cable issue those were bought in 2008-2011

Couldn't bloody show PS3 FHD content without blanking screen on and off randomly

  • Great site to explain the different types of cables

    https://pointerclicker.com/what-is-the-best-projector-hdmi-c…

  • Bought the 3m one.

Shits me the 3m is $5.60 more than the 2m, considering:
    - 2m is only $0.35 more than the 1m
-5m is only $1.40 more than the 3m. And the 5m cable is thicker than the 3m too.

    • 2m best price point which is not too bad. Would be nice if it was HDMI 2.1

  • 2m is $0.71 less than MSY, 3m is $3.89 more than MSY.

  • Ordered 3x 2M few days ago. Received the order today! Surprisingly the order processing and delivery speed are blazing fast!
Btw, these are on 60Hz and HDMI 2.0 :) So don't expect gaming quality and to get 120Hz from this deal.
