Free Pre-Order for Phoenix Rising (Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences 1) by Pip Ballantine book to be released 1st April this may be a pricing error so if your interested click quick :) Apparently to be $7.99 on release.
Book seems to be fairly well reviewed on Amazon and Goodreads

Evil is most assuredly afoot—and Britain’s fate rests in the hands of an alluring renegade … and a librarian.

These are dark days indeed in Victoria’s England. Londoners are vanishing, then reappearing, washing up as corpses on the banks of the Thames, drained of blood and bone. Yet the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences—the Crown’s clandestine organization whose bailiwick is the strange and unsettling—will not allow its agents to investigate. Fearless and exceedingly lovely Eliza D. Braun, however, with her bulletproof corset and a disturbing fondness for dynamite, refuses to let the matter rest .

  • Free books EVERYWHERE! I swear that that Kindle is the best thing I've ever bought!

  • ROFL
Due to copyright restrictions, the Kindle title you're trying to purchase is not available in your country: United States.

    • Yep it's only available in the Aussie store there have been a few $0.00 pre-orders come through in recent months

  • I will admit to having read neither steam nor punk before, but I will dip a toe into these waters.

  • How do you guys find out about these freebies?!! I've bought lots of Kindle stuff from Amazon and they never notified me that this deal was going down! Pre release book for $0.00! Excellent.

Yep, you better believe, I "bought" one. :)

I've gotten in the habit of occasionally checking the Amazon/Kindle Books/Coming Soon section then sorting by price

      • Oh!! The old "use the drop down menu on the left hand side of screen" trick eh. That'll teach me for always starting at my wishlist page to see if there's been any price drops (there never has, so far … maybe if too many people wish for a book, they make sure to not discount it. )

Thanks for the tip … I'll be doing similar sort of browsing from now on.

Its asking me to input my credit card details even though I have an existing a/c etc and have never entered payment details before…. in CASE it comes out at more than listed price. Whats with that? Did everyone else get that?

    • OK it says for future purchases or for if the purchase exceeds the claim code balance…

    • Yeah I got this… I didn't enter anything - because what if the book comes out for $25?

      • The pre-order price is the price they cannot charge you anything further so if it states $1.00 pre-order then when it is released they will charge you $1.00

Just a note this has been released early so should be available to download using your usual Amazon Apps or devices. Also the price is still showing 0.00 for anyone who wants it but was nervy about pre-order.

  • Thanks OP
