Well, seems to be a good price for 4000Mhz, usually over $300 here in Oz… Shame I don't have a need right now.

Looks like single Rank. Teamgroup same speed slightly cheaper ($216).

    • How to tell if single/dual rank?

      • Impossible, just when you receive it. Someone said it was single Rank. It may vary

  • Paid $200 for 3200 like 2 weeks ago 😔

'seems to be a good price for 4000Mhz' mhz dont matter, the ic matters. this isnt b die. dont buy it looking for it, better off buying some ballistix's

    • What? This run out of the box at this speed. Do you want to buy a slower ram just to oc?

      • +1

4000 18 22 22 42 is very slow, not terrible ofc but clearly just some hynix die. rather some ballistix and do some 3600 c14 with tighter trcdrd

        • I think OC memory is always a headache. But if you know what you are doing, great then. I prefer to get better speed if using intel.

          • @Dienk: it's about timings too, and that helps a lot with amd

        • Wait till you see Samsung C-die. 3800C18 is the lowest CAS it can do lmfao. And tRFC is >320ns.

        • That's been put to rest really, the way everything works 99% of the time, bandwidth is most important.

          • @Oofy Doofy: some games like bandwith some games like latency all like both, lower % lows in games is important and none of this is shown in videos of youtubers who know nothing about ram benchmarking with timespy on unstable settings

            • +1

@abjsdhasehasee: The difference overall is quite minimal. There's a reason bandwidth is increasing and timings are getting looser.

  • I read Intel z590 only use up to 2966mhz or 3200mhz? So this is for ryzen?

    • +1

No that's just the non-overclocked spec. Most Intel chips can do north of 4400MT/s on B560/Z-series boards.

    instead order 2 (4 sticks) of these b-die - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07KXLFDL6/

    $274

    • Any deals on similar for a 2x16gb kit that you know of? I have an ITX system.

      • Not that I know of. Cheapest is from newegg which will coat like $350.

        • damn, yeah saw that one. Thanks anyway :-)

  • I have a Ryzen 5600x running with 3200MHz RAM (lower quality) from an old 2016 build. Is it worthwhile upgrading to 4000 MHz Ram or would I just be flushing money down the toilet? What sort of improvement if to be had from applications like Photoshop and in open world games (the latter are apparently more sensitive to Ram speed)? If there was 10% improvement I would considering purchasing faster Ram, but if is just 2% I don't think it is worthwhile.

    • Probably not worth it. You should be able to overclock the 3200 to at least 3600 if it's not something really bad like Hynix AFR.

    • much better % lows in games, although wouldnt buy this, best buying some ballistix or pvs 4400 c19

    • +1

      <5% difference for gaming

      • Thats the quantifier i was looking for - thanks!
