      Lord help us all…

  • What is actual power supply voltage for TPA3116D2?
Photo shows 8-24V; text shows 5-24V.

    • Datasheet says 5-26 V

    • The actual power supply voltage is 5-24V.
The factory produced some similar amplifiers with different voltage specification, they did not mark them clearly:( The text paramter on back is correct.

    • AU $7.66 shipping there.

IC Station is cheaper by $1. also free shipping when >=20usd

I paid $50 for my class D amp - from Aliexpress too - and i thought that was a bargain. It does have a extra 100W sub though

      • running bookshelf or floor stander speakers & a sub? how does it sound?

Surprisingly good. Although mine is a $50 version from Amazon.

It sounds good but I am not an audiophile. I am sure some decent speakers will sound even better. My old Sony surrounds are a bit bright. Paying attention to the frequency ranges now and looking or something with more bass
I hacked the $99 jbl wireless sub to be powered by this

  • I suggest you check the datasheet, at https://www.ti.com/product/TPA3116D2 when considering the 50W power claim.

The distortion and noise characteristics are reasonable at up to 10W @ 4ohm on a 24V power supply, but then raise significantly by 20W, and shoot up like a hockey stick after that.
If you're using a common 12V power supply, you can divide the power by half or further.

  • Perfect LCD for a DIY smart watch.

  • Anyone know if I can use this amp for plugging into an old Sonos Connect, then into some outside speakers?

edit: or does the amp need to be powered?

    • It need to be powered

      • Do you guys sell one that would do the job?

        Thanks.
