I missed the chromecast deal, I already bought a media player from ebay a while ago this, how does the chromecast compare? What's the advantage of Chromecast over other media players.
@htc: Chromecast is easy. Integrated with most apps, just click the cast button and off it goes to your TV. From that point, the Chromecast is making the data requests from the servers, so you don't need to have any engagement with your phone (it's not coming to your phone then being mirrored).
In short, it just works.

If you want something that has a remote and does the best of both worlds, look out for a Google TV, usually comes with 12 months free Netflix which brings down the price.

Lots of complaints about them constantly disconnecting. Has that been fixed?
I’m not sure if it was fixed by a software update but I have 2 Google minis. One never had an issue but the other would constantly disconnect (daily) and I would have to set it up from scratch every time. Did all the trouble shooting and spoke with Google tech support, nothing helped.
Finally it came good (maybe 2 months ago) and I haven’t had a disconnection since.
Just called JB to price match. The bloke on the phone said they received an email from head office to not price match the mini… looks like they caught on!
