Store MONSTER File Size Games Support 3 Slots of Storage System
The G5 gaming laptop comes with two M.2 slots and one 2.5 inch swappable bay, 3 slots offering a total of up to 6TB of storage space. Not to mention the 2 high-speed PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD slot’s unbelievable read speed of up to 3000 MB/s, such storage performance is ready to take on beasty games with large sized files and all the other large media files with pure ease.
I have the 240hz model of this laptop with 100% sRGB coverage (it makes a world of a difference), got it for this price on launch. This is an okay price, but now you can buy 5800H models in this range.
I believe Gigabyte has rebranded this Clevo NH55DPQ.
The 180w power brick is fairly small and the removable battery is a nice touch. However don't expect decent battery life on this model at all. There are two M.2 bays and one 2.5" SATA drive bay, so there's definitely plenty room for storage upgrades. The CPU can reach throttling point, however, the GPU remains fairly cool. Arctic MX-5 has made a huge improvement. The chassis isn't thin but it reasonable size as far as 15.6" laptops go. The i/o is far above most new laptops with 3x USB A, 1x USB C 3.2 Gen 2, 1x DP Mini, 1x HDMI, 1x 1G ethernet, 1x headphone, 1x mic, 1x SD card slot. Although, a Thunderbolt port would have been icing on the cake. The fan does ramp during normal use, this could be rectified with the included Control Centre application. It also includes 3 different power and fan profiles. The keyboard has a fairly long travel and can feel a little mushy, I don't mind it. Trackpad size is a little below average. The laptop does have thermal pads on both the GDDR6 and VRMs, which is always nice to see. Overall I would say this is a well built laptop that would serve as replacement for a low to mid-range desktop. However, I would personally spring for a better screen.
