    New customers only!!

    • yep didn't work for me

    • +2

Wow. You're right. This is next level dodgy considering I claimed this from a unique instant win.

    • +1

Maccas pulled the same bullshit last time with the Amazon gift cards*

Prizes for competitions should not be limited to new accounts, unless the retailer is perfectly fine with you having multiple accounts (even then it's a jerk move).

      *new accounts only

    Boo ShopBack

  • +2

Yes, nobody cares OLD customer nowadays.

  • Where do you enter the code?

    • -4

      Hey mate,
Once you've installed our ShopBack app > tap on the 'Earn More' tab on the bottom Navigation Bar > then tap on 'Code' in the top right corner.
Enter the code there & continue to make your eligible purchase!

      Cheers!

      • Just tried this - says 'can not not find any voucher.'

I'm sorry mate but this is a complete scam. This offer has been readily available to all new ShopBack users for the last few months.

Both McDonald's and ShopBack should be ashamed of themselves.

For those unaware here is the same offer advertised on ShopBacks website - no special McDonald's "win" code required:

  • Boy do I regret buying gift cards with no promotion for the first time last week.

This bonus cannot be claimed in conjunction with any other sign up bonuses.

Does this include the $10 referral bonus? If so, isn't this basically useless…? (assuming people on OzB would use a referral link to sign up)

    Should be all customers

  • +3

Plot twist…. This is maccas' way of referring a friend and they get kickback for it

  • What if you have had a shopback account for a while but never really used it or got cashback?

    • If you didn't sign in for a long time i think sb will offer you some extra 100%bonus cashback deal

  • I signed up for Shopback today and the code doesn't work for me.

    • It's a bit funky. Visit https://app.shopback.com/maccas2021 on your mobile. Need to purchase the gift cards through the mobile app.

If that still doesn't work, let us know.

Shopback gets the benefit of a new customer for $10 cost to them rather than $30 through a referral.

  • +2

I wasted a redemption on this as I was unaware that it was for new customers. Prior to selected this as my prize, i checked the t&c (not the ones listed above that you het with the code but the t&c listed on the page when you select your prize) which did not mention that it was for new customers only. So instead of Shopback having to pay $20 for the referer and $10 for the referee, they get new customers a lot cheaper. Gotyourback? I think not.

Let's vote with our feet. The only way businesses stop pulling these stunts is for people to stop using them. Cashrewards seem a lot more attractive now.

Hey @heal, thanks for the feedback.

As seen here, the T&Cs state "New customers only" on the 3rd line.
This is listed in the Maccas Monopoly prize selection screen.

I apologize if you missed this.

I just wasted a redemption code too. Then I found this thread. You really have to read the full conditions in small print on your phone. Have to downvote this, not a unique code.

    • Me too, what scam. I liked shopback before but not anymore.

    • +1

I posted this "deal" and I 100% agree. However, I'm not sure downvoting this is helpful. If this "deal" is downvoted then it won't rank highly in search results, so no-one will see it.

Can we down vote Macca's & Shopback directly instead? 😂

  • Got your point.

Its still "stomachable" if they put in the effort to create unique codes for the Maccas prizes. They tried to save time, effort and cost by having a universal code, but might end up spending more money on customer retention.
