ToolPRO Tool Kit 198 Pieces $198 (Was $349) @ Supercheap Auto

180

198 piece toolset from ToolPRO with metric and imperial. I've had this set for two years and am impressed at the quality.
I've rarely used the imperial set but as a whole is a great set to have.

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2021.

Is there a similar set for home DIY type things? This one is pretty focussed on cars with all the sockets, but would be great if there were a set with basic plumbing, carpentry, etc tools. Just for miscellaneous odd jobs around the house.

  • I'm not overly aware of tools and the value,

Is $1 a piece good for a kit of this quality?

    • It's not bad to be honest but if you dont break the tools out often like me then the bigger kmart one should do the job, ive found its sufficient and It's contained everything i need so far. And it's only like $38 or something. But toolpro is decent I have heard so this should be a good buy either way

Subtract all the imperial bits you'll probably never use and it'll be more than $1 a piece…

I've been abusing this tool set since it released (swapped my crappy Stanley blitz box for it). Lifetime warranty is nice, not that I've needed it. Would buy again, would recommend.

    • I have also had a set for many years and it gets used fairly often, a couple of times a week. It has 99% of what you need all in one place. All I have added is wratcheting spanners and some more extensions for the 1/4" and 3/8" wratchet.

Would reccomend to anyone who plays with cars as a hobby.

Those with Suncorp membership (and maybe other insurers) can purchase SCA gift cards at 8% off. That brings the price down to $182.16.

I'd shed the imperial and buy somethihng like this Bahco instead. Or wait for this all Metric Daytona set to come down to $200 which it commonly does.

    • I’m a bit disappointed in the lack of a breaker bar in either of those kits.

  • I have something similar. One thing I was not aware of until I purchase my set is that it can be heavy. You probably buy it for DIY and leave it in the garage most of the time so it will be okay.

I dont understand why there is SAE in Australia. It just make the set more heavy and expensive. Is there actually any application here?

    • USA LIBERIA N MYANMAR , till use SAE, so yeah it's wasted 90% of the time.

    • Not a common reason, but I work in a laboratory which has equipment from both European countries and America, so having a kit like this helps to do minor maintenance before calling in a technician. Though at home, SAE tools gets used rarely.

For me personally, my vehicle has a mix of Metric, SAE and even a few whitworth fasteners on it. It's a Land Rover thing….

I hear Land Rovers are really economical.

You don’t use a lot of fuel when you’re waiting months for parts to fix your exploded TD5

    • Plenty of people still work on older cars, which means SAE will come in handy. Occasionally I have to break out the 1" even working on my 03 Z but certainly doesn't necessitate an entire set for me.

  • We need the Aldi metric only socket & spanner set with 3/4 (or 1/2"?) wrenches, that came a couple of years ago but never returned.

I really object to buying or carrying around all the imperial stuff that just gets in the way.

  • I bought the all metric version of this last year from SCA. Cant see them listed currently.

The only thing I didn't get are the nylon wheel nut impact sockets. Anyone know where to get some cheap?

  • Does it has torque wrench?
