How does it compare to the $4.50 one at Kmart? I've been reasonably happy with it. Is it really 5 times better?

Don't use towels - they don't give you the finish that a chamois will
I went from a chamois to these and spent more time going back over sections because the towel types have fibres that leave gaps (and moisture)

Seems like a solid tip, though it'll be a while before my car gets dirty enough to be washed.
Not sure why you got vehement down votes, but you told me something I didn't know before, so have an upvote.

People that disagree probably have light coloured cars and don't notice the water left behind.
Went back to a chamois after using this towel (and the Meguiars yellow one) and surprised how much better the finish is and can get it done in half the time. Car is montecarlo blue.

Thankfully, I have little value of the opinion of BMW and Skoda drivers….

Are you posting for votes? Because it'll probably work
        But I don't care, so there's that
        Go buy some towels

    • Giulia?

    • I am not sure if it is about the brand/ quality of the microfibre towel but I have used various real and synthetic chamois since my first car (30+ years) and tried a waffle weave microfibre on my dark blue 4WD. The difference was chalk and cheese. The microfibre left the car so much drier and streak free compared to the chamois. I'll now only use good quality microfibre on my cars.

For reference, this is the one that I am using and it is great: https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/mint-microfibre-drying-to…
Currently OOS. I can't comment in the Bowden's but do notice that it's not a waffle weave which I have been told is what you need for the paint work.

  • My life had new meaning when I got the Big Green Sucker.I dry the car in a 10th.of the time I used to take with a chamois.I don't use it on tyres or wheel metal.
