      No RGB.

  • Is this better than the Noctua one currently also on sale?

    • +1

Based on reviews, it is an excellent alternative and is better.

I just bought it and it is very big/tall. its really good and so far cpu temp in intense gaming under 58c. You case need to be wider than at least 220cm because mine is 210cm and now I cant put back the tempered glass. so do some research about it before u pull the plug.

      • My existing system uses a Jonsbo RM3 case. https://www.jonsbo.com/en/products/rm3black.html

I am currently using the Noctua U12 but it is 4 years old for an old i5-6500 so am wondering if i need to change this to suit a Ryzen 5 (or 7) build. If so, will this Deepcool fit my case?

        • +1

This one is similar to Noctua D15 in dimensions. The page to your case says "CPU Cooler : Not higher than 170mm" . This one is 165mm.

          • @FlyFire: So this deep cool one will fit my case then. Great!

  • Seems like a good cooler. I wonder if they changed their marketing in light of this: https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/ezldpc/deepcool_a…

Prob not much impact on performance at this level and type of cooling anyway.

    • I am anticipating to get a Ryzen cpu with a TDP of 65W. This cooler should be ideal for this?

      • +3

massive overkill. You can cool 65W with Hyper212/Gammaxx/Pure Rock or similar for around $50-$70.
This will certainly do a great job, but waaay more than you need with a 65W Ryzen.

Your existing Noctua U12 will be sufficient. You can buy AM4 mounting kit for like $15 or get it free of charge if you have original proof of purchase and send to Noctua (may some time to get here though).

Handy guide from Noctua on cooling capability. https://ncc.noctua.at/coolers/NH-U12-38/cpus/AMD/AM4

        • I have lost the original receipt of the U12 as it was quite long ago.

I didnt realize i can just buy an AM4 mounting kit! Great tip! Thanks!
