I guess it means by having rounded corners on the screen, there's slightly less viewing area than an equivalent screen with right-angle corners
More specifically, by having rounded corners you lose maybe 0.5mm, and in the past someone sued them for this fact, hence this clause was added by lawyers.
Every stupid clause came from an actual complaint.

Yeah, too much foreskin!
they cut corners…
It’s a fairly well rounded laptop
they had to cut a few corners to achieve that
or in this case, didnt…
New model launching soon. More discounts to come
Great to buy on my 28 Degrees then
i suppose cant use gc then?
Nope but I'd rather use the card incase it goes down in price so can claim for the difference for the next year plus the insurance I get with it.
Why bring your fellas into it - just looking for a deal!
Thought about this for the primary kid. Have a Surface Laptop 3 myself.
Is this any good, or go for a lenovo 15" @1100ish?
Had a bad run-in with an Asus that I'm returning.
I use a 12.5 laptop, I had a 14", the smaller latop works for me.
I wouldn't recommend a 15" laptop for a primary school student, go with the Surface Go 2 posted earlier.
I just thought maybe 12" is a bit small, and maybe a 15" with numpad is good for maths works
10-12" is the most common screen size for primary school students, the numpad has it's benefits, but it isn't worth the form factor & extra weight for a bigger screen device.
no backlit keyboard + less than Full HD resolution + limited ports: the cons
light weight at just about 1.1Kg + screen with high accuracy and 400 nit brightness + touch screen + quiet and nice to type on keyboard + big trackpad: the pros
also - low storage and last gen processor
Is the cheaper model on special too?
I'm confused, does this have Windows 10? Will normal programs run on it?
Yes for both
Is surface pro worth buying?
Depends what you’re using it for. I had one and it was great, but it couldn’t replace a full laptop. Granted it was the first gen Pro.
I’ve since been through the Surface Book lineup and will continue to be for a while. I do lots of graphic design, data modelling and video editing. Works flawlessly for all.
Mainly for software development.
Id suggest not, the type cover isnt bad but if you're typing on it all day and not getting much use from the touchscreen/pen I think a proper laptop would make more sense
microsoft store is 798, so dep on delivery may be better/
Is it still maximum 5 gift cards on JB website?
Whats difference between this and the 13" Surface Pro?
.5 of an inch for starters
Thats what she said
Surface Pro has a better display but you need to keep in mind that you will have to by a type cover separately if you go for Pro.
Get a surface laptop 4.
Thats what im considering, just wasnt sure about the Go
The resolution on the go is tiny. I'd go with a pro or the laptop 4.
Make sure you do your research before buying, lest you end up like this person
A few comments about it being subpar performance etc, but how doesit compare to similarly specced devices?
Lenovo Flex 5 i5 8/128GB is about the same price, and an Asus iirc.
They all have i5 processors so can't be that bad, can they?
Or are the people complaininng expecting high end gaming and photo / video editing capability?
oh man… not 1080p
It's pretty close given the ratio of the screen, but yeah I agree it's a little disappointing for 2021…
How does this compare to the MacBook Air M1 base model?(I know experience can be anecdotal) but interested to know people’s thoughts. Thanks!
I would have thought the MabookAir M1 would blow this out of the water, but then it’s pretty much double the price and the M1 chip would run rings around the CPU/Graphics of this. Guess it depends what you need, if you just need a simple windows laptop this might be fine, but as others have pointed out you can get a much better specced machine for not much more. For me the low screen res is reason enough to leave this on the shelf.
M1 chip shites on this but it’s double the price
Was going to buy this to replace by Surface Book 1, after seeing the resolution maybe not.
Surface Book and Surface Laptop Go are two entirely different markets; you'll end up with buyer's remorse. If you don't need a detachable tablet but want the laptop style, get the Laptop 4
The RAM can't be upgraded? Will be lot of lag for 8GB to play Minecraft?
RAM definitely not upgradable. Buy a Surface Laptop 4 with 16GB or 32GB of RAM
Google "Surface Laptop Go 16GB" and you'll get a 16GB version usually reserved for Business customers, if that's what you're looking for
Otherwise, yes, performance wise, I wouldn't be gaming on a surface laptop go, or really any laptop without a graphics card or very late model high performance integrated graphics
I'd rather buy a SL3 or SL4 if I'm going to have 16GB in my laptop.
Disclaimer: I have a SL3 15" with a 16/512 configuration
Can anyone recommend an alternative to MS Surface Laptop Go?
Similar form factor but has a crisper screen.
Thanks in advance.
Beg pardon?
