    • Camer here to say this, also available in other sizes.

    • The thing I find confusing on the Aldi one is "metal pouring spout". Nothing in the picture, so are they referring to the neck of the jerry can?

If so: that's pretty poor form from Aldi. Google "jerry can pouring spout" and you'll see that it's the accepted term for a pouring attachment.

If not: can't compare to bunnings model which doesn't seem to include a pouring spout.

  • Got one at there last sale $29 .

  • Too late for the Tue 31/08 Trucker blockade

    That's steel, Jerry! Steel!

Don't forget to factor in a price of a nozzle. I think SCA sells them for around $20

  • SCA equivalent is currently $55.99, or $69 at Repco.

Bunnings equivalent normal price $44.90 reduced to $39.50 I imagine to compete with Aldi

Bunnings = Made in China. Rusts and pourer spits fuel as well as leaks when you use it!!! So dangerous!

      • Not the case with Aldi version?? I imagine they are both made in China.

If you want to support Australian made products consider buying a Pro Quip one for the extra $

  • Waste of time and money the plastic ones are great and for much less

Personally I’d recommend the fuel safe jerry can.

    https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/4wd/recovery/f…

Anaconda will price match so search around as you can get them as low as $40 (which anaconda matched for me).

The fuel safe ones (in black) have a really good reputation and include a good nozzle.

Not saying to avoid Aldi, just I wouldn’t go through the whole process of going to aldi to check for stock for an unknown brand.

Edit - oh and I would avoid metal ones, there’s just no benefit over high quality plastic ones

Not sure if I will buy this tomorrow, but Jerry Can.. Mic drop.

More Chinese rubbish. Your claim of equivalence is like saying a GWM Ute is $38K and the Ford ‘equivalent’ Ranger is $60K. Absolute chalk and cheese. I bought an Aldi Jerry Can years ago; it was rusted shut and useless within 6-months!!! Meanwhile, I have a 12 year old Pro Quip Metal Jerry Can (Made in Europe, made for NATO, used by the ADF) that’s functions perfectly; no rust, no leaks. Buy this at your own peril.

Why did you buy an Aldi when you already had a Pro Quip ? (or why buy am GWM when already have a Ford ?)

      • +1

I believed that I was allowed to own more than one Jerry Can, and it was back in the day when Aldi stuff was being sold as a ‘Bargain’. It was only a waste of $30 for something used a couple of times before it failed. A cheap lesson, but a lesson nonetheless :-)

…buy this & youre basically a nazi and support hitler's beliefs

    • If by supporting Hitler's beliefs you mean that of a superior designed jerry can, then yes. By his more evil and more recognised crimes, absolutely not.

    • Nazi = do you mean superior race

  • AS/NZS 2906:2001 Means it will rust….

  • LOVE YOU ALDI

Better to get the repco jerry can for 45 dollars currently for ignition members. Made by Valpro in Latvia which makes the Proquip ones as well https://www.repco.com.au/en/4x4-adventure-escape/travel-tour…
