I'm new to this, but how will trade in work. Pay $200 now then when you collect on the day you pay the rest and ask for a deal then?
Yeah, just spoke to the store rep and he said that's how it'll work.
Yes. You pay the $200 deposit and then when you go in to collect, you bring in the old console and they'll trade it in for you and you pay the lesser balance.
I'd ask the trade in price before you get the console, just in case, so you know the full trade in value.
You never know if they may reduce trade in prices with such a high demand product (in which case you may be better off using trade in to buy games or accessories).
Better than JB as they allow you to click and collect - I guess better for those not in lockdown :)
Just have them send it to a Parcel locker, same thing.

I was told that EB don't allow you to hold Store Credit for trade-ins… Am I missing something?
It varies by state. QLD they can.
The work arounds in other states is to put it on far away preorders and move it around later. However if you acknowledge that, they will reject you (like the full trade, they'll just hand your stuff back). So live the jokes and winks at home and just do it plainly, trade in, "Youve got $X", "Yep, I'd like to put it on preorders X, Y, Z", the end. No flourish.
Don't know how I managed to get one after JB one sold out so quick. Don't even really want one !! I wanted a PS5 though

The game inclusion is kind of a waste, due to already being in game pass. And having and xbox without gamepass is a bigger waste.

Very true - it's not worth it (unless you only play single player). I just got one as I want the xbox series x - but I'd happily get the normal one over this.
Yeah. I love the look and I really want one but I would rather use the $100 on another game. Also don't like having to wait till November to get one.

It's not even physical which would appeal to collectors (and people who like physical copies such as myself)I managed to get in on a pre-order for the limited edition. I'll keep the pre-order but if I manage to find stock of the normal xbox series X - I'll cancel this pre-order. For me at least, $100 isn't worth a game that will be on game pass (day 1) - considering my plan all along was to get the gamepass along with the Xbox.

The worst part is they've made it a helluva lot harder to onsell games included with console now it comes "tied to the xbox"
These limited edition Xbox consoles are usually worth more if you ever want to sell it, something to keep in mind.
For example, I sold my Gears 5 Xbox One X for $460 right before the series X launched.

Does halo even look good? Im out of the loop. I've mainly been playing excel, word and wrestle the missus during these lockdowns.
Who knows? I haven't touched my Xbox in years, lost interest in gaming to be honest. But wouldn't mind trying this out on my B8 OLED and I did use to enjoy Halo MP back in the day. If I don't like it/see myself gaming again i'll just sell it and get my money back.
Do they really go up in value that much? The only upside to this is that its come out at the start of the seriesX and won't have another slimmer/better version coming out asap. I've had loads of limited consoles/controllers and very little has made me more than I've payed over the long term. They go down as soon as a slim/newer/more storage version comes out.
They are high in value when they are brand new sealed and current. Not years later when it's been used and someone is trying to sell to upgrade.
Or you play it a couple times and it is eventually worth the same as any other used Xbox in a few years.
This reminds me of that time when PS3 had a MW2 edition bundle with actual night vision goggles. That was sick.
I still have my set somewhere. That and the Bioshock limited edition with the big daddy figurine were great.

I loved the Halo 3 Legendary Edition with the Master Chief Helmet. The documentary they made of the game was really good too.
The GTA4 bundle with the lockbox and duffel bag was another of my favourites.
Those two games, plus MW2 were the peak of midnight releases and preorder bonuses. I personally don't think that peak will ever be reached again. OG Xbox/Xbox 360 was the golden age of console multiplayer and community.
Also fallout3 (4?) with pipboy bobblehead and lunchbox

Cheapest Buy It Now on eBay $1100 is not too bad… after eBay fees is $950… unless the seller uses a pay no fee or $1 in fee promo.
