210

My first post here. please be gentle :D .

I was eyeing this BBQ burner for a while now. With the lockdown and everything, I didn't have a chance to go down and get it yet. It was $349 previously and now it's reduced to $278.

Just ordered for a click & collect. Time for some BBQs :D

Even the stainless steel on our Jumbuck is rusting. Waiting for next curbside pickup.

Better call it stained steel then, aye?

    • My bro has one, its still looking fine after 3 years.
      Do you keep it covered?

    • Probably S202 stainless or Iron Stainless as they call it in China. Will rust a lot faster.

Will just say that after years of buying this kind of BBQ (probably one every 4 years) I finally bought a Weber and it was the best thing I did. Will outlast one of these 10 - 1, in my opinion. With the Weber, when the simple parts do fail they are easy to replace, Aluminium body etc.

    • Yes, a Weber will be the next BBQ here.

    • Mine from this great buy 7 years ago is still going strong

The Jumbuck Stardoom sounds like the latest weapon employed by the Australian arm of the Imperial Starfleet.

Had a few Jumbucks in the past. All had uneven heat distribution. Better off spending the extra on a reputable BBQ like Weber. You won't be disappointed.

I snagged one of the $119 ones back in 2014.

Got a decent cover for it and keep it nice and clean and it's still in great condition and works perfectly.

  • Mines all rusted externally but still works fine around 5yrs old now .. I feel like I could get a wire mesh drill bit and clean it up if I felt like it..

I had one and it also started rusting after a few months. and had very poor heat distribution when cooking.
It's a lot of metal for your money, but you should definitely price in the cost of a cover if you want it to stay looking good.

I've got one. Uneven heat distribution, but all the cheap BBQs I've ever owned had this problem. It cooks pretty hot too, great for steak, skewers and burgers as you get the char pretty quickly (obviously preheat first). Watch the sausages though, keep them to the edges. Probably not great for low temp cooking although I cook vac sealed marinated chicken etc in about 20-25 min on low heat even though they recommend 40 odd minutes.
Easy enough to keep clean with bbq wipes and a cover.

  • can I use this one with the natural gas? I got one gas connection at alfresco

  • I have the 6 burner version of this (free upgrade when they sent me to a different store to get the 4 but didn't actually have stock)
I would definitely recommend getting a cover for it, other than that it's worked well for me, does the job.

    • Yep . Thanks. I m getting the cover as well as mat with the savings 😂

  • No stock anywhere :(
