Pretty good price for a stainless steel hooded 4 burner.
Didn't show when I changed my location from NSW to Qld on the website but the price scanned $299 when I purchased one yesterday and there was plenty in store. Should be nationwide.
Quality seems pretty good for an entry level brand like Jumbuck and has stainless steel burners and LED lights around the active gas dials. Glass in the hood is a nice feature too.
What bbq did you replace it with?
Weber Family Q3100. About 2/3 of the real estate with a good chunk more actual cooking space.
Twice the price though.
Another affordable option is the Aldi pantera bbqs. Some stores may still have reduced units. Very similar in concept to the Weber Qs
I've got a Weber Family Q that was too small which is why I got this. Used the Jumbuck last night and I found it was hotter (with the hood open) and had heaps more room.
Yep Webers are never designed for cooking with the lid open…
rust on plates/grill ?
Not the grill, no, but the outside looked pretty bad after 12-18 months.
This model could be different though.
Is just the hood stainless steel, or the whole BBQ ?
Looks like everything is except for the firebox. I say "looks like" because I'm not 100% sure.

I have the 6 burner version of this BBQ and i'm happy with it, it seems to go alright. Not a bad price for what you get from my experience so far 👍
i bought one of these recently, cooks well. Just make sure you buy a cover for it and you actually clean it properly after use and you should get good value out of it
I had an earlier model of this and chucked it.
Although it looks huge, and indeed the hot plates are big, the actually hot spot on the grill is very small. So you end up with this enormous piece of kit that has a cooking capacity of a medium size rectangular frypan.
It also rusted easily.
Wouldn't recommend.
