Haier 143L Chest Freezer $299 (Bonus $40 Store Credit) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ The Good Guys

200

$34 more than the $265 deal in December but you'll get a bonus $40 store credit this time. Down from $349.

Available in store, pick up or + delivery (seems to be $55).

You can store extra meat, homemade soups, and garden vegetables with this Haier chest freezer's 143 litre capacity. It has a top opening door, a 3.5 star energy rating, and a white finish. Plus, the Haier HCF143 has a 720mm width, an 845mm height, and a 550mm depth.

Thanks to wisdomtooth:

It's the 2nd best chest freezer on CHOICE (and the best, by a narrow margin, is a smaller one also from Haier).

Store Credit Terms - Buy by 15/8, take receipt of purchase by 5pm 24/8.

Spend $240-$359.99 & receive $40 store credit, spend $360+ & receive $60 store credit. So you may like to purchase something else for $60 or more to get $60 store credit instead of $40 store credit but make sure it's not an excluded item (look for the store credit link on the listing).

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2021.

  • That’s a great price. Got it for $320 and it was the best price then.

How much will this cost to run for entire year??

    • +1

      ~$66/year according to Choice

      • How do you view the yearly running cost on Choice mate?

  • $289 showing me

    • It does but then when you to order it comes up as $299

    • Wondering who has it for $289?

      • It seems no one, it doesn't make a lot of sense:

Lowest monitored online price today $349.00
        YOU WILL PAY
        $289.00

        • I check it
On buy also showing $289 with $10 discount applied price beat check again

@hamza @OP: what is the best front-door freezer?
I think having a top opening door is waste of space
    Thanks.

    • That's the reason stopped me buying

    • How is it a waste of space? In a vertical one, you cram items on shelves. In a chest one, you stack it. In both cases, you dig through stuff. Comes to one's preference, purpose, efficiency.

Should I buy 2 in case VIC shuts the border to NSW and i need to hoard meat or something?

  • Can I use afterpay on it?

  • I just bought the 201L version for $349. It was $450 something yesterday and price matched to $379 now, and when I clicked on it to purchase, it said a further $30 price match (?). I know, I should get $40 instead of $60, first world prob.

  • Don't forget Shopback CASHBACK $6.80

  • Can someone kindly confirm if $66 (or a round about maximum $ figure) is the yearly running cost as suggested above please ? Thx in advance.

I’ve had it for about 6 weeks, and have it on a smart plug to measure its consumption. It averages between .35 to .41 units a day. Assuming .4 units consumption per day that translates to 146 units. This is about $40 at my energy rates.

Granted, I haven’t filled up the freezer up but based on what I’ve seen so far, your figure seems well within the realm of possibility.

Is the mystery unit a kWh?

        • +1

Yes that’s right, wasn’t aware there was any other common energy units.

          • @hashtagbargain: There are joules too and it wouldn't be that surprising for a dedicated device (and its operator) to use those. It's just odd to say "units" instead of the actual name; "I drive 13 units to work every day" ;)

        • Is the mystery timeline $40 / year or $40 / 6 weeks?

          • +1

@idonotknowwhy: A year was talked before, so it is a year that @hashtagbargain meant.

The calc shows a server error at the moment, but from the previous comment:

            $67.54/yr ÷ 30.7c/kWh = 220 kWh/yr

@hashtagbargain's wasn't filled up, so the estimate was 146 kWh/yr.
