Galax NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (1-Click OC) 8GB LHR Graphics Card $899 Delivered @ PCByte

400

IN STOCK NOW. Seems more GPUs start to arrive and price dropping as everyone wished.

This deal is not cheapest in record but they are in stock now and free delievery, at least free delievery in Sydney in my case.

3060Ti is more or less OK to play in 4K with adaptive setting, good on most of 2K gaming with DLSS. I am a bit of disappointted with AMD 6600 XT, no wonder 3060 Ti will become more popular if the price is reasonable.

By the time the earth is on fire the prices might go down slightly.

    • +7

Who knows, I pulled the triger and don't want to wait a month to save $50 or so.

      • -7

$50? Try $190, though probably not in a month's time.

Even that was was 15%-20% markup pricing.

        • wait a month and pay $190 more lol

you're lucky this thing has a limit 1 per person so it hasn't sold out yet

        • crypto is starting to make a comeback, dont think this will be the lowest

          • +2

@cheapo123: It's not built off anything other than companies investigating why it's a thing and if they should offer payment layers utilising it.

It remains an absolute scam without being secured against anything, which it never will be.

The only reason we have a crypto bubble now is because Wall Street conned enough young people in the US to throw their stimulus payments and spare income at it.

It's destroying the environment, and probably destroying lives.

If i listened to any of these guys on ozbargain… i would have lost big money.

Remember the gainward phantoms 3080 from techfast? Just checked on ebay they are selling for $2400….

        • How much were they originally?

        • +8

This lot will be yelling HODL until Q4-2022 when 4000 series releases and then will crow about their 3000 series purchase at MSRP.

          • @[Deactivated]: Yea I missed out on the 3080s. Listening to these HODLers. I'm sure they have a 3080 they bought a while ago while asking us to HODL

          • @[Deactivated]: I'm still HODLing but then I have no plan to get a new build until mid 2022 anyway. For those who must have a new build now I guess they don't really have much choice but to pay a king's ransom for GPU.

One of the worst 3060 ti's.

    • Based on what reviews?

      • +2

        https://youtu.be/9N4_dMHpu1I

It's still a 3060 ti. So, a pretty good card. But one of the worse good 3060 ti's out there.

        • +1

Ok, I came across a couple of reviews saying it was a good card. I know one of the reviews was the EX version which has slightly better clock speeds out of the box and RGB to make it faster but the overall performance and benchmarks from the reviews seemed ok.

It may not be as good as the bigger brands, is still overpriced about $200 than release date but $200 less then current prices, available now and reasonable benchmarks are reasons I bought one.

Copy/paste of my comment from previous deal.

I think you should take those rankings with a grain of salt like the author of the video himself tells you to in the video.

          • He didn't test anything himself. He just compiled numbers from various reviews he found online.
          • His final rankings are based on power limits, VRM quality and cooling performance.
            • Gives a lot of weight to power limits and VRM, but doesn't show any OC results.
            • He could only find data on thermals and noise levels for 13 of the 49 cards so for the remaining cards 36 cards he ranked them himself based on number of fans, fan size and his knowledge…

A lot of speculation in that video.

          • +3

@HomeAlone: For fans/noise etc you may be right. But what matters is the tdp limit of these cards in the end. Ranking could be purely based on that for all I care. Modern day cards are throttled by power instead of thermals now. 280 watt 3060 ti will clock much higher than 200 watt 3060 ti. Same goes for other cards as well. Such a shame you have to dig to find the wattage set by their bios when it effects performance so much. This info should be written on the box.

            • @DrScavenger: that's not even true, all it matter is how many pcie power does it have, power limit is easily fixed with flashing another higher tdp bios

            • -1

              @DrScavenger:

But what matters is the tdp limit of these cards in the end.

For 3070 and higher models I would somewhat agree, but with a 3060 Ti there's just not that much headroom.

280 watt 3060 ti will clock much higher than 200 watt 3060 ti

It'll clock higher, but not much higher.

Even the Founders Edition is 200W and depending on the game it is only 5-10% behind an overclocked Asus Strix 3060 Ti (TDP limit can be pushed up to 325W, but will at most only draw around 240W as the chip just isn't stable once you get past 2150)

    • +2

The cheapest is not the worst GPU but one with cost-efficiency at least for now in AU market. See review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4PVeM50wL8&t=619s
Also, buying GPU is not like buying meat. These days, nVidia limits the chipset so overclocking is less efficient in terms of gaming FPS boost. Save you $200 for a better GPU chip rather than a expensive but lower grade chip card, plus you wanna wait and get the right price when you purchases.

      • I dont know this specifically but 3060 ti and 3070 ti share the same gpu core. If given the opportunity I think 3060 ti should have a great potential to overclock with decent thermals and wattage.

        • Nop, do you research rather than assuming. The best effort is still a big gap that 3070(non Ti) from my research.

        • From this gaming test, with high end card overclocking, 3060Ti is still a gap from 3070 (non Ti). Good to play with cheaper cards my friends. Ref: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-0K_fvRl90

    • +1

Not if you look at the cost per frame. I bought this at $739 when it first came out, and I would buy this again over other choices. It was slightly cheaper than the lower tier cards from other brands, like the Eagle and Ventus 2X, with the same performance.

    HODL thine mighty apes!

    • +14

Apes will be stuck on integrated graphics until 2023

      • +2

Not all apes are using integrated graphics lol

        • +2

Not all apes use computers lol

  • Does anyone know what that bracket on graphic card means? Obviously Galax cards always have two different dimensions - With and without bracket. Just need to know if it really can fit in my case. Thx

    • My best guess is that the 'without bracket' dimensions are just the dimensions of the cooler without the PCB and I/O panel.

  • +3

I am a bit of disappointted with AMD 6600 XT too

    • +2

Yes, in 2021 a new card comes only for 1080P games with such high price. NO THANKs.

      • -1

I probably won't wait, but go for a 3060 or 3060ti laptop ease the mind

        • +1

The laptop versions are a lot worse than the standalone cards. Even though they share the same name, a laptop 3060/3060Ti is nowhere near the performance of a desktop version of 3060/3060Ti. It's borderline a scam, and shouldn't be using the same names.

          • @KKmonster: True. Unless you do need a laptop to play, go for desktop version.

          • @KKmonster: I know a few people who can only stick to laptops, and I've seen insane deals that go as low as $1200 for a RTX 3060 in a laptop and the price itself can explain.

    • -4

Strangely that versus page doesn't make a big deal about the 50% more RAM. I thought so much more RAM would have been a bigger deal.

Oops. I put the wrong comparison above. Here is the correct one

      https://versus.com/en/asus-rog-strix-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-gam…

    • +4

The card you linked in only a 3060, not a 3060 ti, thus the cheaper price.

      • -2

yeah but it performs better so how does it matter that it doesn't have ti in its model name?

        • -1

oh, my comparison was for the ti version so my whole argument is flawed. nvm

        • +3

          no, 3060 won't perform better than 3060ti
your comparison link is 3060ti and pcbyte link is 3060

          • @Mandalorians: I see that now. Thank you for helping me to identify my mistake.

          • @Mandalorians: Very true. chipset is more important than card if there's no any design flaw

  • +3

    I'm going to keep waiting

  • +2

Doesn't affect anything really, but man does galax have horrible, try hard box art. Edgy gangster yo!

    • +1

Box makes it look like it should come with a copy of Grand Theft Auto too

      • The market buying this card are the complete opposite demographic lol

  • Does anyone know to track shipping from a order of PC BYTE? I have got a lock delievery tracking number but it doesn't say how to tracking it. e.g. "shipped Tracking: Local Delivery 34BG4000xxxx". How to track it?

  • +4

the 6600xt for 589 was definitely a better deal than this.
    can mine better
can game better (unless you was DLSS)
    and priced better

    • +2

      a 1080p card in 2021 with $589? No thanks.

      • You tell him Dave

    • Where did you see that a 6600XT games better than a 3060Ti?

3060Ti is better and that's without DLSS. Add DLSS and it's leagues ahead of a 6600XT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what i've seen in all the youtube videos

      • The argument is Its close to the msrp value.
        However its a 1080p card.
If you play 1440p then the 3060 ti is a better choice.

        • I play 1080p with a 144hz monitor. I am tempted with the 6600XT for this reason, but the 3060Ti looks like it will be a better performer for higher frames in new titles + DLSS helps and I think it would have greater resell potential for those reasons. Is it worth the extra $400odd…maybe, but probably not. I'm holding out until the end of this month to see if I can snag a deal. I suspect, supply shouldn't be an issue with the 6600XT

  • +2

Galax is an okay brand and don't have a negative review sentiment in Australia, the lower prices are predominantly the 2yr warranty on expensive cards.

You would assume each subsequent year would have a higher percentage of RMA's, so not covering for the third year, which is standard practice for Graphics Cards, is the same as not buying an extended warranty. It's likely the only reason they can lower the price.

That being said, in Australia we don't have an explicit limit on how long the manufacturer is required to respond to repair requests, Australian Consumer law states they are liable for "reasonable expected lifespan" which is very open ended.

Having the written guarantee of a third year is a lot more easier, but you are able to argue that a major failure in the 3rd year would not be a reasonable expected lifetime given the standard length of warranty from the other suppliers.

What you are paying for from other providers (in addition to fans/tweaks) is an easier third year insurance that isn't going to be an uphill battle.

    • +1

nvidia has replaced my 2070 when it stopped working after 3 years of use. so i think in australia, you are very well protected compared to the rest of the world, or atleast most other countries

  • +2

I really think its worth getting the 6600 xt if you can get it for 200 less than this

  • +2

People are so desperate for graphics cards they will buy almost anything that's posted here in ozbargain

    • +1

Everything for my new build has arrived other than a case and GPU that I need. Building it for 1080p 144hz. HOlding until the end of the month for a better deal…hopefully.

    • The 6600 xt could be had for $370 cheaper yesterday if you took advantage of the Klarna deal through Kogan.
