[Klarna] ASUS RT-AX86U Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router $329 (after Waiver) Delivered @ Wireless 1 on Kogan

140

Just scored this through the Klarna Kogan deal.
$429 with free delivery -$100 off final payment brings it down to $329. Cheapest deal available at the moment I think.

    • Same. Could have saved me more than $120

  • I grabbed the ASUS RT-AX88U for $336

    • I've been eyeing that one too. Whats the major difference between 86U and 88U?

Does any of them allow having separate bands for 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz with dedicated SSID?

I was also so much tempted to buy 86u but then 88u bit confused me.

          Thanks 🙏

@dealmeister: That is possible on both models.

          • @dealmeister: Is 88u still available on Kogan? It said OOS when I had a look.

          • +3

@dealmeister: People say it's only the ports difference between them, but that's just physically. The 86u performs better in both coverage distance and top-speeds, every review that's updated has found these results to be true. The 86u is the better router. And yes it has separate bands for 2.5Ghz & 5Ghz, it asks that during the setup. Make sure you check for firmware updates too if you purchase it.

            • @ThatsCheap: RT-AX88U is still no slouch and is capable of around 920Mbps. For better Wi-Fi coverage there is Asus mesh called AiMesh.

FYI - Just tried to buy with Klarna and didn't work for me
Message "We're sorry, but Klarna is not available for this Order. Please try another payment method."

    • You sure? I'm on the page now with another in my cart and it is allowing Klarna still.
Double check it didn't default to the AC model when searching (did this to a few times).

Can confirm, same thing happened to me. Went through chat and it has something to do amount, apparently there is a max limit. Rep couldn’t help the limit or even disclosing it.

  • Does this work as a modem for a FTTN connection?

    • +1

It’s just a router you still need a seperate modem

  • Can confirm it is definitely the right model. Anyone been able to make this work?

  • Looks like price is back to $571. Missed again :(

  • Ozbargained!!

AX86U vs AC86U is there any difference if u got a nbn 100mbps plan?
Like will it actually do anything major? Im looking at both and unsure which one to buy.
Personally I do some gaming, work and netflix. Probs 5-10 household devices max on it at any 1 time.
    Any advice will be appreciated
