First deal so sorry if these sorts aren't allowed.

If you have access to Samsung's 'Partner' store (telco. etc) they have just added the NEW Samsung Odyssey G7 28" UHD gaming monitor (LS28AG700NEXXY).

Have been keeping an eye out for this one as it was just released and Australian stock is selling fast by the looks. 15% off RRP with delivery as early as Friday.

One of Samsung's first FLAT gaming monitors, 28" UHD IPS panel with 144hz refresh rate.

Again, you do need corporate access to their partner store to gain access to this price but if you work at any of the Big 3 Telco's or any of the big Electornics retailers you can gain access.

Similar for when others post Good Guys Commercial deals, handy if you can can find someone who has access. Each account can order 5 a year :)

It's not a deal if I need a new job and new friends.

        • Targeted deals are welcome here on OzB, what's the difference with this deal?

I'm sure everyone has an amex/cba/latitude card right? Ban those deals since I have to apply for another card or even a job to obtain required cards.

Not sure why you're getting negged mate. Very valid point. However, deals are selective in many cases depending on who has access to it.

      • Because he's crying that hes not elibile for a selective deal. It's not a valid point, are you gonna ban all the covid front line deals/psa's since most people aren't in that industry?

Samsung Education have it for $1,169.10 who does not have "partner"

Why so exy for a 28 inch monitor?
    edit: oh its 8k

    • +11

      4K, 144hz, HDMI 2.1 (120hz), IPS.

Basically the ultimate monitor for XSX and PS5

    • I think you might be looking at the 2020 27" 1440p model?

        • Maybe different pricing for different partners?

      • Also listed as $844.35 on my EPP, 2020 model listed for $699.30.

        Samsung EPP.

        • who do you work for out of curiousity?

          • @drclu: I'm accessing the Samsung employee EPP (employed by a Samsung subsidiary).

    • Yep +/- $20 difference on the EPP I have access to.

Word to the wise: It's almost like they generate random values to catch-out people not adhering to the terms and conditions of the EPP site

"….You must not publish in any medium (including, but not limited to, on social media) or otherwise disclose to any person who is not an Employee, any discount on, or discounted prices of, any Product(s) offered to Employees…"

        • All good. It's pretty rudimentary for them to trace back to an individual. Might want to think twice about this comment, too. ;-)

          • @[Deactivated]: Oopsie. I've often shared pricing with friends and family from here, never in public like this. thanks for the heads up

            • @drclu: Yeah mate. Read the EPP terms. Your colleagues may be peeved if posting details of the offer results in Samsung AU dropping arrangements for the company you work for. Remember - your full name was revealed when you used your Flickr account.

  • 4k 144hz is overkilled for my 1070ti

    • I think any monitor with specs like these are overkill for most machines lol

    • +2

Yeah even with my 5900x and 3080 i'd be dubious about buying one haha

  • -3

Only HDR400, forget about HDR. And 4K is best on 32 inch, 28 inch is overkill for 4k 144Hz, stick with my AW3821dw

  • Yet to see a technical review on this, but even Gigabyte couldn't mess up the tuning for this panel, so it should be pretty good.

Price wise, it needs to go down to $800 quickly in order to complete with the Dell/Alienware competitor.

    • What dell/alienware competitor that's 4k 144hz at this price?

      • My bad, confused this with the older G7, and was thinking of the Alienware QHD 240Hz IPS model!

  • +2

    4K & 144Hz in the same monitor??

Sheesh, if only I had more money :/

    • Don’t forget a 3080 so you can drive it lol

      • Lol true, I wouldn't mind the monitor anyway thooo :)

I can push 1440P 165FPS on my current setup, so 4K ~100FPS would be… 'acceptable' hahaha

  • +2

waiting for the Gigabyte M28U to be in stock again.

  • Damn HDMI 2.1 for 4k120!

Once the price on these comes down (a lot), I think I've found my new PS5 monitor…

  • Is the G9 or G9 neo on there?

    • G9 yes, no NEO yet

      • how much is the g9? Just curious

        • +1

G9 neo has been posted but is out of stock. My EPP entitles to 15% of RRP on monitors so its around $2550

  • Just out of curiosity, is Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 on Samsung EPP yet & how much OP if so?

    • not yet

      • G9 neo has been posted but is out of stock. My EPP entitles to 15% of RRP on monitors so its around $2550

  • An absolute shame they've dumped their VA panel for a run of the mill IPS, but for the price it's still pretty decent, just no HDR support

    • Honestly on high refresh high end monitors, smearing really kills the experience

      • +3

The VA G7 that this is replacing is literally the fastest 1440P screen you can buy and doesn't have any smearing at all

        • Totally agree it's a shame, also their reuse of the Odyssey G7 naming seems needlessly confusing given the differences.

If they put out a 28"-32" VA with the high refresh and issues of the previous model resolved I'd be all over it, curved or flat, wouldn't care.

I love the specs, but I'd prefer a more simple and minimalist aesthetic (the LED 'cheeks' in the front doesn't look very good)

Are there any option for 32" 4k 144Hz G-Sync or am i asking for too much ?

    • Gigabyte FI32U for $1499 if you don't want HDR, PG32UQX for $3599 if you do want HDR

      • Note that Gigabyte FI32U is FreeSync Premium Pro - not native G-SYNC.

        • Is there much of a difference between g and free sync? I'm planning to get a 3080 Ti but like the other guy said, 2k difference.

          • @ASOT:

Is there much of a difference between g and free sync?

Main differences seem to be variable overdrive and wider variable refresh range on proper G-SYNC monitors.

As the link above shows, G-SYNC monitors can handle refresh rates from 1Hz up to their maximum without resorting to "tricks" in order to keep things smooth, whereas with FreeSync/G-SYNC Compatible when framerates fall below the variable refresh range low framerate compensation kicks in. You won't necessarily get overt flickering or stuttering, but it can definitely feel more choppy than native G-SYNC if you're playing something that's frequently dipping in and out of this range.

Regarding variable overdrive, if you're familiar with reviews from Hardware Unboxed you can see how different overdrive settings tend to be better or worse at different refresh rates (often significantly depending on the specific panel). Proper G-SYNC provides variable overdrive so manufacturers can tune this for consistent performance across the refresh range of a monitor, whereas FreeSync/G-SYNC Compatible screens are stuck on whatever setting you're using which might work better at some refresh rates than others.

            2k difference.

Maybe in regard to the specific monitors the other guy was referring to but I don't think it's the native G-SYNC module making up that $2k difference - there's plenty of cheaper screens with native modules to be found, just not many in that particular size/resolution.

            • @itscyanide:

Yeah I'm looking at either a 27 or 32 inch 4K monitor, not many options for g-sync.

  • Can anyone tell me if a a GTX 950 will run this for NON GAMING purposes (browsing, excel, office work)

After using a 120 hz phone, I would like to buy a high refresh monitor.
