so let me get this straight - you want to buy this, thinking that this may be a good deal for you, but to make sure you throw this to ozbargain?

RAM is cheap… CPU is i5, not i7… Hard drives aren't so dear now.
When I apply Moore's Law, I don't see why this is so good.

the only Acer i found for $499 after cashback is this http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/nbacas5750-bonus-memory-… but it's a i3 sandbridge and no discreet graphics, however they do have the Lenovo G570 i5 for $499
Average deal at best.. Not to mention the pain getting a cashback from ACER… Make sure you send your claim registered post.
I have done 5 claims so far and have not had any issue with ACER.
I thought the cashback ended on 31/01/2012 ? A quick search on google seems to confirm that it has expired.

Second Gen but only has 4gb RAM. I picked it up for $637 before Christmas and got the $99 cashback.

it looks like the OP had a typo of some sort cause its definately a gen2 processor from the specs on the link (i5-2450m)

Cheaper at Jb hi fi and same price at harvey norman.. So this is not a bargain in any way, shape or form
