    Refund lol 6900xt worth it

    • +1

The reason they don't fullfill is they prob flogged your reserve off for an extra $500. When the price comes down, they will fullfill. But you should cancel. Why should they get to hold onto your money for free?

      • +12

Rosman charge 15% fee for refunds. They take orders and never fill them but NEVER offer the refund. If you ask for it they hit you with the charge. They are super dodgy. Lots of evidence of them doing this all over ozbargain and reddit. AVOID ROSMAN

If that’s the case he should call his bank/credit card company, tell them the story and they will charge back the purchase

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Not from Dec last year they wont. Best option is local consumer affairs. I'm sure they are more than familiar with Rosman by now.

            • @PlagueistheCheap: I’ve charged back a purchase from 7 months ago and got all my money back. I see no reason that he can’t at least call his bank and try?

              • @[Deactivated]: Interesting. I was told by CBA last year they couldn't do longer than 6 months after I had issues with Hoyts cinemas and Vic lockdowns. CBA refunded me 'as a good will gesture'.

@PlagueistheCheap: Yea first mistake CBA… so many ppl I know have issues with them not looking after customers

        • I wouldnt hold out for it. Imagine if they go bankrupted.

        • +1

I contact them and they said no cancellation fees for my order but I have to do it via email. I will try that first. Thanks for your information.

          • +2

@Wayne30: I feel terrible that you have had to wait 8 months for a gpu you already paid for.

          • @Wayne30: I wouldn't cancel, especially if they are selling the same card you preordered, but just at a higher price.
I would email Rosman Computers (I assume that's who you mean) and ask them to fulfill your order otherwise you will contact fair trading. This is bait and switch advertising and is illegal.

If they fail to honour make a complaint with Fair Trading and inform them:

            You can also contact ACCC:

            • @thedriver: Thanks. They are really dodgy. The story is that they told me that standard version inno3D Ichill X4 3080 I ordered will never restock. At the beginning, they told me they can swap a EVGA 3080 to me and they never mentioned it later. I call them again I can accept LHR as I am not a miner. They accept it. But one day I found Inno3D ichill X4 (LHR version) in 3070, 3070TI, 3080TI, 3090 were listed on their website. They just did not list 3080 X4 LHR which is LHR version of my order. I assume they will update their website if I ask for refund. But the problem is that I saw BPC tech and PCCG restock the model (Inno 3D RTX3080 Ichill X4 LHR version) I ordered at least twice.

  • If you get this, make sure your PSU is not 750w, I had issues with the machine just resetting randomly. Upgraded to 1000w and problems went away.

    • +5

It's probably that you wired it up to the PSU poorly (using a splitter 2x8 pin instead of 2 independent ones), or that your PSU is tripping its OCP too soon due to poor design.

The 6900XT fits very cleanly in a sub 750W build. You'd have to run an OC-ed PC with the GPU OC-ed to get anywhere near 750W and even then it would be a transient peak, not sustained.

      • I thought it would be ok as well, but I checked their requirements, and it was 900w according to their website. If you google around, you will find that there are a few ppl complaining about the same thing right up to 800w PSU.

That was my experience anyway. This thing runs 3 power connectors from the PSU, one was a splitter.

        • I run a 6900XT in my PC and my whole system load has never once exceeded 500W. They highball the PSU requirements on the website because they assume you are using a crappy PSU, and not a Seasonic (or any other quality PSU, Seasonic uniquely make no bad PSUs).

I believe the reason they run 3 power connectors is because they don't trust people to not use a splitter from their PSU (so you have at least 2 non-split 8pins). Good PSUs will supply the current fine even if you split it out of a 2x8, but bad ones will trip OCP with a splitter installed.

I should clarify that an 8 pin is technically only rated for 150W so avoid splitters pls.

What 750W PSU were you running?

My SF750 Corsair SFX has no issues with this exact bargain GPU. OzB running smooth as butter.

  • PCCG is selling 6800 XT on their own website for 1999 but not listed on Ebay….

    • I get your point that the 6900xt is sort of an overclocked 6800xt but this is better

      • Not a bad buy ATM ….

      • +1

Doesn't the 6900xt have more cores as well? So it's just not an overclocked 6800xt.

        • +1

          slightly more…. like 5% better performance with a 50% increase in RRP…..

  • Personally I would contact the ACCC

    • You would be after state local consumer affairs, not ACCC.

  • Never heard of PowerColour before - anyone know their reputation and customer service in terms of RMAs, warranty etc.?

    • +1

powercolour has been around since the ATi days, they've always been known as a cheaper, more budget friendly Taiwanese brand, unfortunately can't say much about warranty (but from reading online they aren't great)

    • +2

Their cards are some of the best if not the best, though I can't speak for warranty.

    • +3

Check out how one of their reps handled this recent awkward situation. This speaks volumes about their level of care.

  • The 6900XT is closer to the 3090 than the 3080 correct?
Does this make this a good card and a good buy?
I've been preaching diamond hands for the lower end cards but I don't think the higher end cars will drop drastically anytime soon.

Is this worth it for pure gaming and entertainment purposes?

    • do you need ray trace/dlss?

    • What resolution monitor & CPU do you run?

      • 1440p monitor
        just bought a 5900x.

worse comes to worse ill buy a 6600xt and upgrade GPU once prices have stabilised

        • If you play the latest games, 6800xt or 3080, whatever's cheaper. 3080 if you want RTX/DLSS.
