I didn't know Gerry sold jerky.

      • Who's Gerry?

        • Who's the first Gerry that comes up when you type it into Google?

      TRIGGERED!

  • +20

Ehhhhh it's very similar ot Jack Links, in that it's rubbery sugar.

    • +1

Agree. Just finished a packet of the Teriyaki flavour and it is really ordinary quality, and tastes like it's been over-tenderised.

    • +1

      Mmmmmm sugary rubber.

    • Agree. Expect to be disappointed. The dog will enjoy.

  • Hubby loves this

The Jerky might be super average at best but at least you can guarantee you’ll get something for your money lmfao

Always suprised how much people are willing to spend to have someone else jerk their meat.

    • +3

Surprised? I believe there's a whole industry around this. One of the oldest professions in the world.

  • so much sugar…

Aldi always been on the lookout for John West rejects for processed brands you don't know .

Thanks op, aldi got rid of spices. I tried teryaki last time, doesn't taste good, would try bbq next time.

  • +1

Only tasty one was spicy/chilli and now it's gone :( wtf Aldi

    • At least they tried with a spicy one.

The reality is that the vast majority of Australians don't like spicy/hot or strong flavoured food.

      • Most of the time I went to buy jerky at aldi, all the spicy gone, only original and bbq left.

  • Is this as cheap, or cheaper than Costco?

    • +2

About as cheap as Costco regular price, but Costco does sales for another ~25% off sometimes too.

You may either love or hate that this is individually wrapped.

  • Still waiting for my great offer from you know who. This post is just mocking me at this point!!

I've been 'out of the OzB jerky loop' for a few weeks. I detect some pretty heated hate here in this new thread re an unspecified prior 'deal', and I'm curious as to which one that was exactly, and why?

    Was it this one?

(PS. Steer clear of Aldi jerky, it tastes like puke that someone added equal amounts of sugar and salt too, then dehydrated.)

Yes avoid Buy Aussie Now and Doctor Proctor. Whilst an initial delay was flagged and unfortunate, they've now come back and said it's been further delayed and haven't responded to people's request for a refund.

  • Grabbed one of each of these today to try. Basically like Jack Links - Not bad, but not great. A version with heat and less sugar would be nice, but it isn't really something I would buy again.

With that said, there was also a pack of mango beef biltong in the clearance section which was actually awesome.

    • Agree, the mango and chillie flavour from Aldi was nice for me too.

    • How much are the mango beef biltong? Will give it a try if the price is good.
