Two singles or one dual - which config do experienced users recommend?

    • Two single are generally better against a wall but I'm stacking mine so the dual should be fine.
I grabbed H180 as it takes more weight and I have a 34 inch Ultra wide

    • There are few different dual.
I have the most common dual (gas) and for me 2x singles is better.
Why? If no space behind your desk then you cannot place the monitors right at the back (side by side) because The arms will hit the wall

But this model looks has solved that issue. Not sure. Anyone has this please comment?

    • Two single arms can give more horizontal adjustment and may be better for depth adjustment as well since you could clamp them more off centre to stretch out the arm so it doesn't have to bend back behind the clamp. I think two singles are generally preferred over one dual of the horizontal arrangement, e.g. like the F160 (currently $65.45 @ Amazon).

For vertical stacking, you might need the height so one dual like these H160 or the H180 (supports more weight). For horizontal arrangement these duals still have a similar issue with depth behind the clamp (depending on the horizontal spacing).

Desk surface wise, these all have fairly small footprints so it probably doesn't matter but of course one dual H160 takes less than two single H80. You could also repurpose two arms to different desks if you needed in future.

      • Yes mine is similar like f160.
Correct. Depth adjustment issue due to wall.
canot put them side by side without big gap between, or otherwise put the monitors too front., eating the desk space.

Ok thanks i wont buy this if i will still have the same issue…. really wish i have bought 2 singles..

        • The H80 single monitor arms are available currently for $34.37.

          • @XZT: Do you guys suggest buying two singles? I honestly don't get it, due to the stand hitting the back wall? I think in offices this is a non issue but at home, this certainly is an issue.

            • @sqheaven: Yeah, generally go with two singles for better depth adjustment. The clamp would still need a bit of a gap (min ~1cm) between the edge of a desk and the back wall.
Similar discussion on the F195A deal.

27" monitors are big enough that the arm isn't visible from the front, if it's not stretched out horizontally.

              • @XZT: Thanks for the guidance. I think I am going to buy two singles, as I am also not sure if I would like a dual-screen setup. In that case, I can always send one back.

I have bought 2 x 27" for my setup since WFH is never-ending now.

Will it be possible to put the laptop under the 27" monitor setup while it is in the highest adjustment? I think I might like that too. Otherwise, I have the cheap laptop stand but it takes huge desk space and looks ugly.

                • @sqheaven: The H80 has a 550mm max height to VESA mount, so subtract the height of the VESA mount for your monitor to see how much space would be left under it.

                  • @XZT: I bought the Dell S2721QS, it doesn't say what is the height of VESA mount. I don't know where to get this information. I think the laptop might fit but it's screen might be tilted back. It's a 15" screen.

                    • @sqheaven: The S2721QS might have more detailed documentation on the Dell website (can't seem to access it at the moment), but I'd estimate ~190mm for the height to centre of the VESA mount (a bit over half of the screen height). You'll need to measure your laptop, but it'll probably fit in the >300mm height remaining.

                  I have bought 2 x 27"

Not sure but already bought two monitors?
Yeah get 2 singles. Its hard to explain but if your desk is against wall then dual is bad.

          • @XZT: Does the stand show in H80 while a 27" monitor is mounted? Would be a lot of visual distractor in this model imo

  • How strict is the spec it says up to 27, would it be okay for 1x29" + 1x23" ? (Total weight should be okay im sure)

    • Comes down to weight more than anything, i have the Blitzwolf on my 34", it only just does it. If your 29" isnt too heavy i'd say you'll be fine. I have 4 of these ones, similar build quality (i am using single mounts, not duals).

      • Ok looks fine.
my 29 is 4.5kg and the 23 is much less.

      • Is Blitzwolf better than NB or same manufacturer different brand name? Like in the case of standing desks sold, Desky and Omni

Are there any model that can fit a curve ultrawide 34 inch Dell and a 32 inch flat LG in stack vertical setup?

    • Might need to measure to get the exact dimensions of your monitors, but check if (height of the bottom monitor) + (height of the VESA mount on the top monitor) < 630mm for these H160.

      e.g. assuming a Dell S3422DW on the bottom (364.5mm height) + a LG 32" monitor on top (~210mm height to the VESA mount) = ~574.5mm < 630mm
Probably doable but with limited adjustment available afterwards.

  • I got one but the image is misleading that hardly stack 2 monitors on desk unless you mount them.

    • The bottom monitor might touch your desk in case of stacking

    I want one of these to stack x2 27" monitors but the below review threw me off this product;

"For standard horizontal mounts this worked great, however to put one monitor above the other the bottom monitor has to essentially be touching the desk which Is way too low to use ergonomically, so for stack mounting buy another product, for standard array it works well"

I'd want a little lift off the base of the desk at least 10cm

  • Anyone know if this or similar will mount 2 32" ontop of each other?

  • My displays are with height adjustment, and they are side by side. Will I save much desk space with this?
