Does anyone know how these go if I have my desk very close to the wall?

ie. Will that severely reduce the maneuverability or make me have them sticking forward a lot to compensate?

    Thanks

    • +9

Yes. As someone who owns a dual monitor arm exactly like this, go with 2 singles instead.

      • Thanks for the tip. :)

        • +2

          No worries.

My desk is at least a hands length away from the wall to allow my monitors to be positioned the way that I want.

I wouldn't have this problem with 2 singles.

The singles are often on sale around here and come out better value anyways - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/north-bayou-f80

F100A Single version is also on sale (up to 35inch monitor, 9kg) for $63.96

      • I concur. I have the double and wish I'd bought singles. I may still do so. Wish I'd given it a bit more thought at the time.

Because the stand (like any stand) connects to the centre of your screen, the geometry is all askew if you want to push them right back. On top of this, the top arm is effectively a few centimetres longer than the bottom section due to the mounting block.

If possible, you want the mounting points on the desk to be behind the middle of the monitor, or even slightly wider. This would mean the same width as your screen apart (might be 24 or 25" if you're running 27's for example).

My desk is very close to the wall, I suggest you to buy 2x H80($35 each).

    • my desk is 800x1600 size, and it is kinda deep. so you really have to plan ahead where your monitor is going to be placed before doing anything.

because I am so far away from the wall, I ended up drilling a hole into the desk to make the mount closer, thus I have more sideway motion to play around with.

only use 2 24" monitors atm, I used to have 3 24" with 1 extra single arm.

      • Great idea.

  • Anyone know which model is this? F160?

    • Model is ‎F195A-W for the white and F195-B for the black

      • Thanks, do you know whats the difference between F195 and F160?

  • Is this desk mount as in it just sits on the desk and no clamping required/drilling? also would anyone know if this is suitable for a table thats close or touching the wall. I quickly went through some reviews and saw some photos where this mount can swivel to the side so it wont need to bend as much and hit the wall (I don't want the monitors to take up half my table)

    • Been doing some research and my understanding is there is 2 fitting, clamp and drilling.

I also want to know how much space is required between the wall and table if I want to have the monitor side by side.

      • Best to go with 2x H80($35 each) as mentioned above for your case. You won't be able to align perfectly 2 monitors with a dual arm, especially if your desk is too close to the wall.

    • +1

Won't be suitable if you're table is close or touching the wall unless you're happy having the monitors sitting really high up or really close to your face. The bottom axle doesn't allow bending so the bottom arms can only swivel. The top arms can swivel and bend up and down so if your monitors are large and require a large amount of distance between the center of the visa mounts, you'll have limited options regarding the arm configuration/directions.

Can confirm that all of North Bayous brackets that I've purchased (Have tried the H180, F100 and F80) come with a clamp kit and drilling kit.

      • Hey mate. Would you also suggest two f100a over the h180? Looking at the h180 pictures, seems like it can sit quite flat to wall at any height.

        • +1

Depends on your setup, I have a corner table with three monitors (1x32in, 2x24in) so I'm using the H180 and F80. I'm able to sit the table really close to the wall as I have space to maneuver the arms around.

I've setup a double F80 setup for a friend who has the same table but she wanted the screens to be closer to her face so the H180 wasn't going to work.

The question you'll need to ask yourself is how close to the wall/how far away from you do you want the monitors? The farther away from you, the more likely the arms will need to overhang the table which means you'll need to have some space behind the table.

For the best results, I'd always sit to two over the combined one as it gives you more flexibility (both in terms of mount placement and arm positioning). I used the H180 because I was able to calculate where the monitors were going to sit and was happy with the limitations.

          • @CoreNex: Thank you greatly, friend. I've just bought two of the f100a's. This way, I think I'll have more control, and adaptability on any future desk setups. Also, my viewing/sitting position changes drastically between work and gaming.

            Thanks again.

    • I have 3 of these at work, there's two option for clamping the edge of the table or through a cable grommet.

If your table is flat against the wall and you want the monitors to sit side by side with no gap then these are no good to you.
The closer the monitors are the arm knuckle have to fold. This means if you don't have room behind it will have to sit further away from the wall.

Can anyone recommend a dual monitor arm that has more height? ~650mm I want to stack a 27" on top of my 32"

  • Thanks for the recommendation. That one would fit but it would be really tight at the bottom, I want some space between the monitor so I can fit some peripherals on the desk.

Dang. Just bought this full price. Im loving it and was worth it for full price anyway. $104 is a steal for this. It's very durable and great quality. Love the adjustment options. It can be clamped and\or drilled into the desk. It has the two USB 3.0 ports at the base with cables that need to run into a source for power i.e. a USB wall charger (I use the ports for charging my watch, headphones and game controllers). The mounting plates rotate a full 360 degrees if you want a portrait mount. Also, the cable management is great. I have the monitor power cord, a HDMI cable, a DP cable and an auxiliary cable all running through one arm of the mount to the base for a very clean setup.

Regarding space required between desk and the wall - my desk is completely flush with the wall even with this mount clamped to the desk. And the arms don't swing backwards at all. But you should know, my desk is 1800x900cm, so I have quite a bit of distance between me and the monitor arm, meaning I can swing the arms forward (away from the wall) and the screens are still at reasonable distance from my face.

  • I bought these about two months ago from Amazon for $65. I have set them up with two 27” monitors which was nice and easy for a great product at a great price.

    • Those are F160.

  • I have two of these.

I stupidly bought 2x curved monitors without thinking and am having a hell of a time getting them to line up side by side. Any suggestions?

Am currently using https://brateck.com.au/product/mabt-lds-22t01/ but I cannot for the life of me get them to the exact same height and with no gap in between.

Here's what I'm looking at. TW: non aligned monitors.

I 100% want them side by side, not one on top of the other.

  • is there any dual monitor arms that allows me to switch position of the botom and top monitor?

like e.g. I have a 34" ultrawide for work and a 27" 144hz for gaming. when im working i'd like the 34" at the bottom and then switch with the 27" when im gaming… any ideas?

  • What makes the F195 worth 65% more than the F160 (apart from USB sockets)?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08DLG6WJY/ref=ppx_yo_d…

  • does this fit Dell U2410 monitor? im unsure about the back mount if it fits. thanks

    • I have dual Dell 27” monitors on the F160

      • can you send me a photo of the back of your mount attached to the monitor?

  • I have the NB F100 which is supposed to hold up to 34" 12kg as well. It doesn't feel that good with my Samsung 32". It holds the monitor but the issue is more with the inclination adjustment. It's either too tight or it won't hold. It's hard to adjust. It was fine with my 27" thought. If you have a 32" get something that would hold up to 15".

At my office we have 3 of these, each running Dual 32" and they handle the weight fine, with full articulation, but they are relatively thin and light panels. A lot better than my Blitzwolf at home handles my two 32" which is cranked to the very top.
