Some questions if I may.
What is difference between 16 channel with 8 cameras listed in post and this other option as basically same price
https://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_436943_Reolink_8MP_4K_16…
Why do the pictures both both the 16 channel camera sets show old fashion cable connections of power, video, etc. when these are PoE? Doesn't PoE mean every connection needed is done through the ethernet cable?
Thanks in advance.

You've linked the same product.

They don't. They show ethernet, power and reset. You can optionally connect external power if you like but if using POE you just leave the power connecter disconnected.

Yes, if connected to a POE source (like this NVR).
Yes you only need the 1 ethernet cable. For peeps who don't want to use PoE for some reason you can charge it via the DC plug. The other on is a reset button
Great deal, would be amazing if it had the person and vehicle detection cameras
I have been using similar Reolink cameras for over 6 months now. They're 4K, Amazing picture quality and very reasonable price. Thumbs up. I however upgraded my Hdd to a 4 TB one.
I have this system and it works well. But a warning for people considering this deal. I'm fairly sure this bundle will include the older model NVR without the person/car motion detection which is a big deal.
Reolink has recently released its updated A model cameras and NVRs (eg: rlc-810a, RLN8-410 (new version) .
The A stands for AI person/car detection. The motion detection on the non A series cameras is quite bad. It gets set off by changes in sunlight on partly cloudy days which makes it have heaps of false positives.
I'd recommend buying the newer models for your sanity if intending to use that feature.
mmmm bugger.. sounds like a deal breaker. I am guessing there is no way to update the NVR in this to be able to use the AI right?
They do issue updates to the firmware but this is a new hardware revision so no, not possible.
I'm pretty upset as the V2 hardware was released only a couple of months after I bought V1 so now if I want to use the AI I need a whole new NVR.
I'd consider buying a bundle with the new NVR and old cameras potentially as you can always add on the A series cameras if you decide you really need the AI. But having a dumb NVR is bad as it's the brains of the system and most expensive to replace. There's some more discussion about the AI here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/10537933/redir
