  • How is 4k at 30hz? Does anyone use it? I currently have a laptop connected to a 4k 60hz monitor. But thinking about getting a second 4k monitor. Tis means I would have two 4k monitors running at 30hz. Not sure if it's worth it.

Change your monitor to 30hz and find out? It's pretty bad if you're using it as a monitor as you'll feel it. I've been able to hack most 30hz limited devices/connections to 50hz or so and it becomes usable.

      That's not how it works.

Each monitor is connected separately. If you have one monitor connected already though a different port at 4k 60hz it will be unaffected by connecting another through this.

But if you really want to connect a second 4k screen Its definitely worth spending the extra to get one that supports 4k60hz through hdmi. 30hz is horribly noticeable.

I also purchased a usb-c extension so I can have my dock fixed to my monitor with a more convenient & easier cable to plug in to my laptop.

    • 30Hz for office work is Ok, the movie is lagging, game don't even talk about this.

    • I'm using 4k 30hz at the moment and yeah it's noticeable enough to make you sometimes go "oh is my computer struggling?"

  • I got the one with two HDMI ports, it's working pretty well. I don't know why, but I was surprised at how small it is.

  • Does anyone know if this would handle 1080p @ 144hz?

  • what sort of issues are experienced by not disabling thunderbolt security?

"Tip: To get this USB C Hub to fully work on Dell laptop, you had to disable Thunderbolt security in the BIOS after which there were no issues."

  • @rep - do you have any hubs similar to this which have power in but NOT PD? My laptop does not support PD but still want to have the hub powered for attached devices.
