I know; I just spent $6500 ($6175 after discounted gift cards) thinking it would take a long time for it to break $6k.
Boy was I wrong…
I'm waiting for this to be 3 grand
I guess that will be in a few years when it's resold on Gumtree.
I'll prove you wrong in 2025
Prove us wrong now, can you find an LG G8 or an LG W8 in 2021?
They were LG flagship tv's from 2018
Realistically how much cheaper will this get? I have one in stock now at tgg waiting for me but contemplating to hold out and wait for a better deal
not by much this year i suspect. These are very popular.
Wish the 83" C1 was listed
Wow getting closer to US prices. We're usually paying double what they do for TVs. This is only about $700 more after conversion from their dollar.
US MSRPus USD $3799, that equates to Au $5640
It sells for $3500 US at all the big brand stores
Yes, even LG US website has that price, but that's a variable, so I will list the standard as the guide.
3800 usd equates to roughly 5100..
You're ignoring sales tax, which is incorrect.
@snuke: Sales tax is irrelevant as anyone can import one although it would be realistic to add shipping and 10% import fees as its over $1000
@Deeseeee: No, it's 100% relevant. US prices do not include sales tax as they are state based, thus vary. So their final checkout price will increase depending on the state they are in. We include sales tax in our prices, so to compare accurately, you need to compare the final price with sales tax or ours with no GST.
@snuke: So no one in the US can purchase that tv for $3500?
@Deeseeee: People in US can get it delivered without sales tax from some stores. On average they might pay around 5% tax so $175 extra.
@Whisper Quiet: Exactly and isn't the 3500-3800 their rrp so wouldn't people be able to negotiate anyway? Either way we're still paying more than the US
@Whisper Quiet: US average final tax is 8%, but that is not the point, we have 10%, so that is what we apply to the comparison.
@snuke: No it's not. Average is between 4 and 8. But the states with the most sales have bigger percentage. Thats what swings it higher.
@Whisper Quiet: I don't think you understand the definition of "average" as you're providing a range, that's not how it works, it's a simple mathematic formula that calculates to be 6.57% as of Jan 2021. Source - https://taxfoundation.org/2021-sales-taxes/
Regardless, you have to pay 10% here, so that is what you would apply in the conversion, your local sales tax.
@snuke: Theres states that dont have tax at all. So im adding in that too. Im not talking about shipping a TV here, I'm talking about what we pay in comparison to US. Which you still can't understand.

Yeah, that's called an average………………
But you can't get it for zero, so you need to apply your 10% as though you are buying locally for the US sticker price.
This is a fair price.
