EOLEMA2002III

Bit of a niche need these days but as it turns out you may still need one.

Yes fully aware of the many workarounds involving apps / Google maps, but if your car does not have an inbult one, I find that you still may need one of these.

If you do need one, this is a good deal.

  • This is one of the products that got killed by smart phones :)

  • If you can sell a GPS, you can sell anything…

  • Very handy for P platers.

  • I prefer using GPS for long drive, charging phone while using kills the battery 🔋

    • Android Auto or Apple CarPlay would solve that problem.

  • As others have mentioned gps have been replaced by phones, however is it actually illegal to use the GPS (ie. software on a phone) while driving? I'm always scared of touching the phone (to select different route etc)…

  • Phone is only good when you have a signal. GPS are much more reliable signal wise, especially in remote country areas. Plus they plug in so don't use up your phone battery or data. I still use mine regularly. I find it much easier to use than the phone.

    • This is true only for apps that are not using GPS signal. If using apps like Sygic or Tomtom, you use the phone’s native GPS radio with downloaded maps, and not mobile internet.

  • My GPS is also a dash cam and I tend to do long drives so I prefer using the GPS.

However, nothing beats Google maps and Waze in city traffic.

    • Waze is the bomb :)

      • How do you use waze for cameras

        • Unless it's a fixed camera other users will have (hopefully) posted the location of hidden cameras.
