    Warning Bells

If they're acting in good faith, they're trying to quietly pay people to test their backend out, which seems to be the source of their previous issues.

  • +2

Surely there must be some kinds of mistakes..
When something is too good to be true, it often is… tho my ozbargain spidey sense is tingling for me to try it

  • +3

I dont see the prices the OP is posting…
    i see
    1 year $99
    2 year $175
    3 year $250

    • If you follow the link and select view all offers it should be reduced to $90 for 3 years. At least that is what I see.

      • +3

beware it needs to be clicked from shop back link first so it tracks

      • Ah yep, that would explain it. If the tracking works seems like a no brainer then I guess

  • +18

'nah for SHOPBACK. their business model is to make it difficult for your to claim.

  • Bullshit

  • +2

got to do another $20 spend by july 31 to get $9 on the app offer. so lets hope they pay up and we dont have to chase them later on for the 110%.

  • +7

Meh. Local library free membership comes with a massive range of freely downloadable magazine subscriptions.

    • +2

+1 For free money, but for me, I'd prefer to stay safe and keep up to date via my local library.

  • +9

won't try te profit is only $9 but the risk is $90 for nothing.

    • +1

yeah, big downside if problem with tracking (or if Magzter rejects)

  • +2

https://libbyapp.com/ and or Pressreader from your local library = free

  • The risk of not getting the cashback and getting what you may not want is starting from $30 dollars….

  • +7

Imagine paying people to use your services how bad could it be

  • +3

If you are eligible to claim a tax deduction for this subscription due to work related or investment related reading.

The profit will be your MTR plus 10%.

    e.g. If you are on 39% MTR x $90.

    = $35.10 tax refund + $9 extra cashback = $44 profit

    Buyer beware:

    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.magzter.com

I posted this link last time this user had an offer for this company. Now they are paying people to join. Again buyer beware.

Subscribed for the 3 years. Purchased all within the shopback app on ios (using their browser). Cashback status is showing as Pending, with an amount of $99.49 due by/on 15/10/2021.

Did you record the screen as a video? I've done purchases entirely within the Shopback app, including static screenshots and been rejected previously. When I pushed back, they initially claimed that I must of either used a hacked version of their app, or found a way to click another affiliate link from inside the SB app. They relented eventually, but it took hours and hours of my time chasing them.

      • Nope.

      • +3

Who the hell would want a “hacked” version of SB app and why would someone make one…

        These guys are tripping.

    • mine tracked fine as well using browser and shopback extension in chrome.

When saving card details do not click option to save for later. When you check your subscription, auto renew will be turned off by default (on mine it was anyway).

  • Looks like macs in reverse

  • +1

Yeah, that’s gonna be a no from me.

  • what is this anyway?

  • not gonna risk 30 bucks for this to potentially not register the cashback to make 3 dollars after it clears in 3 months..

  • Over 10% chance of being rejected. Not worth it.

  • +3

Friends … mark this post as one that will turn into a total sh!tstorm in three months time.

  • +2

    Too risky to use shopback

  • +3

Still waiting for cashback that "usually takes 5 days to clear" and it's been 3 weeks. Any time now.

    • I'm still waiting for cashback and it's been 2 months 🤦

  • Cant see the offer for some reason. It's only showing the full prised gold membership @ 250 for 3 years

    • Offer came up on page arriving from Shopback app. Click on view all offers.

  • When I select one of the offers and choose to sign up am taken to email verification. Enter email and get invalid email id error. Does this need signing up first then purchase the plan?

  • If they are paying you to buy something, then there must be something wrong with the product / service. And the middleman is ShopBack. Enough said!

  • Can't seem to order this. Created account and adding any of the 3 offers takes me back main page with nothing in cart.

Edit - worked from SB app on iPhone

  • Lost my money
    Stay away for Shopback
That is the response I got from Shopback even though I followed all the instructions

Thank you for submitting a missing cashback claim.

We have appealed this missing cashback claim with the merchant and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the cashback along to you.

ShopBack awards cashback on your transactions on the basis that the merchant attributes your order to ShopBack and pays us a commission, they are the deciding party on a sale being attributed to ShopBack.

There are quite a few reasons why these orders may not be attributed to ShopBack. This includes:

    1. If a user clicks on a Honey, Cashrewards, or another chrome extension after clicking from ShopBack
    2. If other web pages (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional/discount sites) or web browsers are opened after clicking through ShopBack
    3. Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up, or advertisement on the store’s webpage whilst shopping
    4. Antivirus/Cleanup or Adblocker applications block or disrupt cashback tracking (Tracking cookies are required to track transaction)
    5. When the order falls under the merchant’s exclusions, including the use of promo codes not listed on ShopBack.

In the meantime, do let me know if there is anything I can do to help or share my best advice on earning cashback. I’d be here to support whenever you need it.

    Regards,
    Team ShopBack

    • That is just a proforma response for every rejected SB transaction when you lodge an enquiry against a click record.
If you do a search on OzBargain, you can see so many folks who have been scammed by SB in the same manner.
